Yammy is a little hard to gauge cause he got killed by Kenpachi who pretty much scales to whatever he fights just prior to Yammy he had a hard diff fight against Nnoitra

but yes i think REnji should be able to win with Bankai
 
Yammy unlocks his Segunda Etapa, and ascends to the rank of Espada Infinita Negativa, then he breathes on Renji and wins.
Then throughout the world, everyone can hear a faint sound, as quiet as a whisper, of Kubo laughing his ass off in his house.

Then Yammy proceeds to destroy the sun with a Cero.

We saw what Renji Bankai was able to do with First Ress Yammy and 17 months training will not do much to change that. Maybe he could make Yammy a little more angry.
People need to stop to think there is huge or even any power creep just because someone trained for a couple of months/years.

It's weird because Kubo clearly doesn't respect his strength enough to actually make him stronger, lmao.

If he just let Renji beat Szayel, we probably wouldn't think he was such a jobber.

He sure does love his mad scientist tropes, but I never understood that particular one. Szayel's fine, not bad, he just way overstayed his welcome.

He def overstayed in the arrancar arc alone. He enters the stage around the same time as AA and is defeated shortly before Nnoitra. The top 3 wishes they got that much focus. But it doesn't end there.

- Comes back in Hell chapter 0
- Comes back as Cien in Narita's fanfiction
- Comes back as Mayuri's hallucination
- Back again in Hell Chapter

the bias is real.

It’s not the focus. It’s the Chad curse. He left some of his lingering Floor curse in Hueco mundo which made the rest of the arrancar into jobbers.
