A lot of people are saying that Given their sharingans and therefore their awesome arsenal of jutsus through copying them why weren't those things used in the fight to make it more tactical. But that is a very wrong point because of the very fact that both their sharingans are advanced. Unless in an uncounterable situations, using your regular jutsu instead would just end up getting defeated.
Taijutsu: they are both almost equal in speed. So this makes no sense. It might make the fight look more spectacular but goes nowhere for both of them in achieving their goals.
Ninjutsu: they both have top level sharingans and as we have already seen through Kakashi, your regular ninjutsu moves are not very very useful against a sharingan
So the only options they have are their trump cards like MS, cursed seals, advanced preparation for elemental jutsu against each other.
Even then I would say that this fight could have been portrayed way better. Its the second fight in a row that has me shaking y head and wondering if Shueisha is messing with the plot to make more money and robbing me of the good original Kishimoto.
