Who should survive?

I had a long arguement with a friend about the recent fight. Who should be the survivor after this battle?Itachi/Sasuke/both survive/both die?
IMO Itachi deserves to win despite of the circumstances..

Never said he was. Quite honestly I think he's a scumbag for giving up on his friends but giving up on your friends fails in comparision, at least through my eyes, to murdering your entire family and extended family.

Yes but ignoring Sasukes deeds and only pointing out Itachis (which from recent events lead us to believe he even did the Uchiha massacre) turns your question from "who should survive?" to "who should survive.. btw Itachi killed like 400 people". Thats why I made the reply.

Personally I would hate to see either character die because there both influence characters. Sasuke influences Naruto into becoming a better ninja and Itachi has done the same thing for Sasuke.

I think Itachi deserved to win. However I wouldn't have wanted Itachi to win simply because if Sasuke died, Naruto no longer has something to work toward. Sasuke embodies Naruto's will of fire in that he's a rival to strive to beat, with the current goal of getting him back so they can BE rivals once again.
