Who else senses a Deus Ex Machina?

Nelo

there?s a funny story for that
The phrase deus ex machina (literally "god out of a machine") describes an artificial, or improbable, character, device, or event introduced suddenly in a work of fiction or drama to resolve a situation or untangle a plot (such as an angel suddenly appearing to solve problems).

Now that we got that out of the way, here is what I am thinking after reading chapter 313:

We got two things established already: Aizen is pretty much about to stomp on Karakura with seemingly no one close enough to stop him AND Orihimes powers are somehow increasing (as stated by Ichigo as he tried to stop her rushing towards Yachiru a few chapters back).

Now, here is what I think will happen:

Karakura will be destroyed, lots of people gonna die, probably even Keigo, Tatsuki and Mizuno(?), maybe even a lot of Shinigami when they rush to defend it (for example the remaining captains or vice-captains, or just the nameless bunch). At this point, Orihime would use her Event-rejection powers to simply turn back time and reject all of the events happening there, in essence undoing everything that has happened. Needless to say, that would take all of her "life force" and she?d die as a result, but would return one last time to Ichigo as a Shinigami.

That?s my fear for a really clich? ending of Bleach, and as of now, I see now other way to resolve the plot (if it?s supposed to end with the Winter War, or rather this one right here) than by using a Deus Ex Machina like this.

What would be funny is if when she turned back time on the whole city to save everyone she was lying there dying and Ichigo came up to her and stabbed her with his soul slayer thus making her a shinigami and taking his power, 6 months of Ichigo as a normal guy then he gets his power back just in time to battle the next set of new bad guys.

Yeah, because Urahara is just going to let Aizen destroy Karakura. Sexing Yoruichi > fate of Karakura and its citizens

And Orihime is not strong enough to pull that off, and I'm not talking about her powers.

i think orihime can revive the entire town without killing herself. it wont be the end of bleach at all, there is a hell of a loot more to go, such as the entire royal dimension arc

Needless to say, that would take all of her "life force" and she?d die as a result, but would return one last time to Ichigo as a Shinigami.

See, that's the part you messed up on. This is all part of Aizen's plan, so she'll reject everything and then die, but Aizen will then turn her soul into a Hollow and then an Arrancar. Then she'll return one last time to Ichigo as an Arrancar who is completely loyal to Aizen. :wink

Urahara and Yoruichi are gonna have to step in to the ring.

We all know the real reason Aizen is going to Karakura town...

Its cuz Unohana is in HM. remember how both he, tousen and gin shit themselves and escaped to HM when Unohana figured out his plans.

the royal guard+vaizards+yoroichi's shunko+hat and cloggs'bankai+yumichika actually using his soul slayer for anything other than a mirror>team Aizen????

Kura kura heroes > team Aizen

Don konoji will solo Aizen, gin and toussen, while the kids handle the Espada.

Kon Vs Stark will be epic.

Hope not.. really sounds lame..

and also the fact that we will have like 5 chapters about how orihime rejects the town, and how she dies..

This would take tomuch time =P

aizen destroys city hall cuz he's a d1ckhead.
tousen destroys a Walmart because Walmart is the root of all evil.
orihime rejects everything, including yammi's valentine card.
ichigo eats orihime to gain vastrolorde powers.

Is this the same Yoruichi who busted her dainty little fingers on Yammy?
yoruichi needs to learn how to use her sword, let alone use it with TWO hands.

iirc she did say that it was her fault that she didnt go into s1ut mode earlier against yammi (the mode where her clothes fly off).

Urahara might confront Aizen and co. but because there are alot of remaining espada, Aizen will probably send them in first to take on the remaining captains, Isshin, Ryuk, etc.

Aizen is'nt intersted in crushing Karakura Town right now. THis is just a ploy to provoke Orihime into trying to destroy the Hyugoku (which will probably end up returning it to full power).

I would'nt be surprised if the "Deus Ex Machina" was that she is under Aizen's Hypnosis, and Aizen is'nt gong to Karakura Town at all.

Ichigo's sword is too much for her to handle.

She would explode from the sheer volume of power that is condensed in his bankai just from the initial penetration.

:zaru

No matter how much her power has been used or broken, I don't think I've ever seen it "wear out" Orihime to use her rejection techniques. She gets beat up pretty easy but I see no reason why it would kill her to ressurect an entire city instantaniously.

I really don't believe that a cliche Plot No Jutsu such as this suffice as the end of Bleach + no plot important person ever dies in Bleach whether good or bad.

Sure, it's not like Earth is being guarded by a society of Vaizards, Yoruichi and Ura-fuckin'-hara. That goes without even mentioning Karakura's double trump card: Elder Kurosaki and Daddy Arrowlad.
