What Tsunade has to show that puts her in Sannin status?

What she has to pull out of her [s]breast[/s] sleeve?

I'd say it's mostly her medical jutsu. Genesis Rebirth along with healing people from certain death is extremely impressive, and she's the first shinobi to have gone that far with medical jutsu.

Her brute strength is no joke either, but sadly many high level shinobi are too fast to be hit by her very easily. However, you can't name many people that can dodge every single taijutsu move, and once Tsunade hits you, it can very likely be over. Even if you block with and arm or a leg, that shit gets shattered and becomes useless.

Huge boss summon that spits rock-dissolving acid isn't bad either.

She may have abilities we aren't aware of yet, I personally believe we haven't seen her fight all out. Sannin battle was all handicaps. We don't judge Orochimaru and Jiraiya by their performance there, and I think it was meant to imply Tsunade was not fighting at her best either.

Also, boobs. Actually, that's the weakness. Kishi just doesn't make the woman as powerful as the guys. Look at every team, and tell me who you think is the current weakest in terms of overall fighting ability. Even Konan will likely be a low tier Akatsuki member, though I do have some hope for her being stronger than we'd think.

the above comments, as well as the massive physical strength - which can kill a shinobi as strong as Jiraya in one hit. She is probably the greatest medical ninja in the world, even trumping the poison skills of old lady Chiyo.

Oh, and she did just take Sakura from a level where she was weaker than Tenten - yes, apparently it was possible to be weaker than Tenten - to where she is now one of the strongest shinobi in all of Konoha, even taking out one of the most elite Akatsuki members.

All that training while she was still Hokage.
 
Nothing. She only got the title because "The Konoha Ninin" wouldn't sound good.

moer than just what we already saw, i.e. super strong and slugs. she needs to do some s-rank jutsu like hermit mode or edo tensei level

She has already shown us with her medical jutsu and strength.. now she just needs a fight to actually get to highlight some of those skills... I think Tsunade is getting seriously underestimated (even i am still not convinced she is a sannin) and needs to have a good showing. I think she is still a top tier opponent... we just haven't gotten to see it yet
 
First we haven't seen much from her in regards to offensive jutsus. She never had significant amount of battle time.

Though, she is exceptional at healing. This is not simple in ninja world. We only have few who come near what she is capable of. She also has brute strength that combined with fine tai-jutsu makes her very tough opponent to kill.
 
If not the quality of her jutsus, probably because in that time, strength was a very good gauge of strength. AFAIK, they were given the titles of Sannin, so Tsunade had probably shown if not a vast array of jutsus, a powerful jutsu unlike any other.

Ninja sense? Probably.

That, or those massive rackage. :D

While I definitely want to see more of Tsunade's skills, not just in the operating room, but on the battlefield, I think it's silly to discount her accomplishments. After a 20-year retirement and working through a pathological fear of blood, she still acquitted herself well in the Sannin Reunion Battle.

  • Knocked out elite jounin Shizune.
  • Destroyed landscape. LOTS of landscape.
  • Completely scrambled the electrical impulses in Kabuto's BRAIN.
  • Took multiple attacks from the Legendary Kusanagi Sword and shrugged them off.
  • Bitch-stabbed a boss summon.
  • Used Orochimaru are a yo-yo. A punching yo-yo
  • Healed the psychological damage of Tsukiyomi.

That's a pretty impressive resume for anyone, and Tsunade, much like Jiraiya hadn't shown much of her repertoire. Maybe she can even surpass her counterparts by, I dunno, actually surviving. :laugh
 
I'd assume she probably has some special form/mode like Jiraiya had his Hermit Mode and Orochimaru had his snake form, but she has already shown enough to put her in "Sannin status" if for no other reason than the fact that she survived the battle her teammates did against Hanzo and was given the title.
 
I think the fact that she made Sakura not suck proves that she's a better teacher than Jiraiya and Orochimaru. That has to count for something.
 
Medical skills.

Sannintards still are in denial and believe these guys are "overall powerful ninjas".

Sannin are specialists just like Akatsuki members.

well in real life, the male anatomy makes them the physically stronger sex.
so i don't see why people are complaining. there's tons of manga/anime
stuff out there with scantily clad women of ridiculous strength. it's usually
in western cartoons/comics that females take a supporting role.

tsunade is a sannin and the current hokage. what more can you ask of her?
 
She maintaining as Hokage. Her incredible strength hasn't been showcased nowhere else in the manga other than with her apprentice. Genesis Rebirth. Superb medical jutsu. Hype. And that bangin' ass body, yo...

...Lol, just kidding on the last part.
