Too many character deaths in Part II?

Am I the only one who has noticed all of these great characters dieing in part II? It's sickening... it's like they're going to erase all of the characters from existence. I'm afraid to see Naruto go next and them rename the show "Sasuke" or "Sakura"... (Although Sasuke would make sense since it means Ninja) still I mean just think lets look at our great character death list:

Itachi?
Jiraiya
Deidra
Asuma
Hidan
Gaara
Chiyo
Orochimaru?
Kakuzu
Sasori



A look at Part I's character deaths (We barely got to see some of these guys):

Sarutobi
Dosu
Haku
Kimimaro (OMG...)
Zaku
Sound 4 (I'm no Sound 4 tard but they could have been interesting)



Even the characters pre-series... just imagine how interesting they would have been:

Obito?
Rin
Yondaime
Madara's Brother (would have been neat)
Pre-Madara's Story
White Fang
1st Hokage
2nd Hokage



It's unbelievable what's happening to the story... gosh someone just hit me with a kunai already... It seems as if it is pointless to bring in new characters to the story seeing as they will die within three pages along with everyone else...
 
Oops, I had Zabuza in mind but I forgot to put him down... how could I forget. Yeah but he's getting careless with deaths now.
 
Killing off important characters is a sure fire way to cause conflict and progression in a story. When an important and influential character dies they leave a vacuum that needs to be filled by other characters. For instance, now that Jiraiya is dead there will be a vacuum in Naruto's life that will need to be filled, either by another father-figure/mentor or by Naruto himself.

For me, this is a positive step for this manga, and something that should have happened in part one, if you ask me. I'm not saying I like having a main characters die in every chapter, but when the main characters manage to make it out of almost every fight with nary a fatality, the manga loses its exitement.
 
Most are bad guys and bad guys die... yet these are supposeadly "S-Rank godly ninjas" getting beat by chunin..

If you actually believe Jiraiya is dead then you're foolish :D
 
People die, the old replace the new. People who have lost their worth, just dort of fades away. And this is a ninja manga, people are expected to die in the real life as well.

I'am just wandering that in the end, will Naruto be the last man standing? or team 7? or the 12 rookies?
 
I just think it shows some maturation and becoming more adult. Showing the true ninja world of death and violence
 
This is a show about ninjas fighting to the death. Of course people are going to die, and I am glad that's happening or it wouldn't be realistic.
 
Zaku's girlfriend kin also died in part I.
and I don't think you can say Gaara died.
i think a lot more should have died. It's a bad thing that cool villains as Kakuzu and Sasori need to die, but if no villains would die, the story couldn't go on.

Villains have to die. It's a necessity to go on with the manga. This thread is kind of ironic, because last year people were complaining that not enough people died. In fact, people still complain to this day.

Most of the deaths are one arc wonders, the only real huge hitters are Jiraiya and Asuma- both old, and Itachi and Orochimaru- who have to die in the end anyway.
 
Oro is not dead,he will make his comeback,the only ones that didnt had to die this way where Itachi,Jiraya,Deidara and Kimmimaru probably Haku to :/ the oders had to die in order the manga to go on:notrust
 
I'm pleased with the character deaths. It's a story about shinobi, they're assassins and it's either kill or getting killed.

So? People have to die to keep it interesting.
And in the end all bad guys will be death, so there's still a long way to go.
 
It is sad to think of all who have died, espically the good guys, but I accept it, because I see it is needed for the plot :amuse Even if I may not like it :(
 
You should expect all of the villians to die sooner or later, those can't be helped. And the good guys who have died, will only serve to further this plot, witch is much more serious then it's part1 counter-part. :oh
 
Part II is a darker story. And most of the guys you mentioned were bad guys who were gonna die anyway.

I love it. The story is really getting good.
 
this thread fails too hard. why? cause there haven't been NEARLY ENOUGH deaths. one of the reasons the manga iosnt as good as it could be is cause of the protective shield most of the characters posses, like all of the chuunin exams characters, i8 mean the young fucks. everybody should understand that a character like the 3rd was DESTINED to die, fast. same for the evil characters, they would be dying too. now what if they implied the same rules to team 12 and all those young fucks? we would have a great fucking manga, way better and far more amusing and thrilling then what we got now. everybody and their momma knew gaara wasn't going to die, same for sasu or naru.
 
I think there should be more large battles, with more people dying on both sides. Not to mention that most of the people in part two have had crummy deaths.
 
part 2 has more drama in it...and yeah there are much more deaths than part 1, but I think that this is the particular reason that can make a manga interesant..
 
Deaths are what keep these Manga's going strong..gives people time to cry for their favourite characters. Ero Senin!!
