This is what lower tier, secondary characters like Sasuke do in manga: they survive by default but don't get the glory. Why? Because he is NOT the MAIN. His win just keeps the plot moving, but at the end of the battle he is left cowering defenseless with his back against the wall. No hype... just a "victory?!" Plot moves along as scheduled.

In none of Sasuke's fights has he been really allowed to shine or own in the end. Kishi is being careful here. And this is probably the biggest fight we'll see him in. This is just further proof that Sasuke will not get the rock star treatment that we've seen Naruto get in the past. The fact is that when it is time for Naruto to shine he'll go all out and dominate. This is guaranteed. He'll leave no doubt about who is superior when he finally defeats Pain or whomever.

Sasuke gets limited, moral victories while Naruto's fights go over the top in scale and have a clear resolution with Naruto being shown as clearly superior. That's why Naruto is the main. That's what the main does. He kicks ass 100 percent. The main doesn't win by cowering like a beaten dog in the corner. When push comes to shove, the main just pimps his opponent and leaves no doubt.

Also, I wished people would stop saying Kishi loves Sasuke. If this is "love" then I would hate to see what it would be like if he hated this character. He kills Sasuke in effigy constantly throughout all his fights, demoralizes him during his fights by showing him totally helpless and having his opponents mock him, and steals his thunder in every fight by having his opponents commit suicide. Then at the end he gimps him big time by taking his powers. He took away Manda Summon, and now he has taken CS-2 and Orochimaru/White Snake powers. Every time he fights he gets weaker. Maybe he'll get MS or something, i.e. become a Hawk. I guess that's what that means. But after seeing what it did to Itachi why would he want that shit? Seriously, if Sasuke gets any more downgrades and he won't even be a true rival for Naruto because we all know Naruto is about to get a huuuge upgrade.

Duh....people knew of this ever since part 1. Sasuke is the TRUE underdog in this story. Naruto lost his underdog status a long time ago. He no longer have to fight for recognition or having to prove people wrong. That's why Naruto as a character is boring as hell while Sasuke is the focal point of the story. Maybe its the part I syndrome, Sasuke seems to be all powerful compared to Naruto(Sharingan, Taijutsu, Chidori and 2 types of elemental jutsu) then Naruto gets stronger during the process and Sasuke knows it(Kyuubi chakra and Rasengan).

Now he seems to be all powerful again(CS, Chidori and its variants, more Katons, snakes, Shunshin, Kyuubi supression, white snake, Sharingan and his that jutsu Kirin), then Naruto gains some power ups(better use of KBs, can beat opponents without using too much Kyuubi chakra(Kakuzu), Fuuton and 50% FRS).

Then later its revealed Kishi plans to power up Naruto further(Key to Kyuubi chakra, power of the toads, destined child, 100% FRS and a that jutsu left by the greatest ninja Minato Namikaze and possibly many more), and now Sasuke loses some major power ups(CS and white snake), but may get a better power up(PMS), then later after a few chapters before we know it the power scale between Naruto and Sasuke will be like it was before the end of part I.

All that is just my assumption anyway so no one take it seriously.

The match that Sasuke had against Naruto, some might argue was not exactly "fair". Seeing as the extent to which both sides would go to win were different. Killing was Sasuke's intent while Naruto had the desire to capture Sasuke and return him to Konahagakure.

Sasuke is certainly a powerful character, less so now than previously, but it is inevitable that Naruto will become more so. I am not sure how much this battle proves that, however.

So one fight means everything to you? Most Uchiha fans says Madara is the strongest of all yet he lost to the Shodai. Does that mean because of one fight Madara is completely inept? Sasuke is a main character to the story but the story and the manga is all about Naruto. If you can't see that you must really be delusional but anyways they both are strong. However i do agree with you to a point. since part two sasuke has been fighting characters who were weakened in some way or another which is bullshit on kishi's end, because his fights in part 1 was actually different most noticably with Gaara, Sasuke took on a healthy Gaara and brought him to a point where Naruto's jutsu would have an effect on him.

Sometimes i can't tell which one annoys me more, Naruto one hit KO'ing his opponents or sasuke fighting weakened ones.
