The most complex anime character

...So, so complex...Alliances,treaties, helping the protagonists, fondling the protagonists and fighting the protagonists... :cry Yet his lust for battle is so simplistic.
 
Yeah, I really can't figure Hisoka out, but I think that might just be because he's batshit insane rather than complex.
 
Johan Liebert (Monster), he schemed a whole plan to be killed by the brain surgeon who saved his life. :LOS And lots of other things.

Char Aznable from the various Gundam series in early UC timeline.

Lots of complexities, sacrifices, tragedy, and compromises he had to make, not to mention he had plenty of flaws.
 
I think its johan, he has a very complicated background and motives, plus he fucks people up real bad.
 
My variety of watched anime is very limited in comparison to many, it seems. @_@ I have never even heard of most of these characters.

From the ones I do know, I'd have to say: Sensui Shinobu, Hao Asakura, and Shigure Sohma.

Johan's character is complex, but other characters in Monster like Tenma and Inspector Lunge are also up there. It's such a brilliant anime; the characters will immerse you.

He's purpose is just.....to own everyone and to make us red comet fans glee in joy when he appears. :p

Sensui from YYH. Had potential to become complex but they didn't reveal more of his past though. But he is still one of my favorite anime characters ever.

I cried when he died. Such a great character...screwed out because of plot movement into the next arc! :(

Yeah, Sensui was a really complex and awesome antagonist.

Such amazing depth he had.
