WHEN IS THE GAME AWARDS?
The Game Awards streams live on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

HOW CAN I WATCH THE SHOW?
The Game Awards is available to stream for free across all major streaming services on Thursday, December 7, with the Opening Act starting at 7:30p ET / 4:30p PT. Check out our section for more details.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT THE SHOW?
The Game Awards will celebrate video games with awards, world premieres, musical performances and more!

THE AWARD PROCESS

HOW ARE NOMINEES SELECTED?
Nominees for most categories of The Game Awards are chosen by an international , selected for their history of critical video game evaluation. Specialized juries also convene for other categories including esports, accessibility and best adaptation. Each voting outlet completes a confidential, unranked ballot based on the collective and diverse opinion of its entire editorial staff, listing out its top five choices in each category. Ballots are tabulated, and the five games that appear on the most ballots are put forth as nominees. In the event of a tie, six (or more) nominees will be announced in a category.
Game Awards producer Geoff Keighley is not a member of the jury and does not vote on the nominees or winners. Similarly, The Game Awards Advisory Board has no involvement in the awards process and learns of the results at the same time as the general public.

WHY DO YOU USE THIS JURY FOR SELECT NOMINEES?
Given the sheer number of games released each year, as well as the extended time required to fully evaluate products, a “voting outlet” approach allows for the widest possible critical assessment. A ballot submitted to The Game Awards represents the collective opinion of an entire outlet.
HOW ARE WINNERS SELECTED?
Winners are determined by a blended vote between the voting jury (90%) and public fan voting (10%). Fans can vote for their favorite games on TheGameAwards.com and on our Discord server. In China fans can vote on the winners via Bilibili, WeChat, and other platforms. Fan voting closes on Wednesday, December 6 at 6 pm PT.

BG3 easy game of the year

For fighting games, MK1 has been amazing but SF will still probably win. I haven't played it but I don't think I've ever seen a fighting game praised so highly at launch. It doesn't really matter though, Tekken 8 > all.

I will never understand the hype about BG3.
Incredible writing and hauls back to the age of RPGs that made the genre great and what it is today. BG3 made me feel the same way I felt playing Dragon Age: Origins for the first time.

Picture Geoff wrapping up the performance, reading the last few lines on the teleprompter, when he's unexpectedly interrupted by the lights dimming. Suddenly a figure center stage is illuminated by a spotlight. It's Matan Even, the 16-year old former TGA stage crasher, revealing one last WORLD PREMIERE...

we all know BG3 is going to sweep everything, all that matters is Stellar Blade getting a release date and FF9 remake getting revealed

You don’t have to like my opinion.

Starfield gameplay wise is the most boring shooter I’ve ever played. Even the dog fights are fucking retarded.

I agree with Jake I got the premium early access and everything and the game was overall mid. I did all the good side quests and main mission and thought "that's it?"

BG3 is gonna sweep this clownshow so hard Swen's gonna have enough trophies to build a raft and puddle back to Belgium

No, I agree that Starfield, for the most part, was lackluster. It was the Bioshock take that disappointed me.
