I did my searches and there are no other threads that target barrier and sealing technqiues like this..
The point of this thread is to talk about why itachi isn't > Sannin and Minato but more so = or < than espcially when we add in Minato. What sets these characters apart from each other is Barrier and sealing techniques. We haven't seen these techniques in full force as much as we have seen the sharingan. But we know that Yondaime made a seal powerful enough to seal the strongest being in the manga inside of naruto and was even smart enough to make it where chakra would flow through the seal .. That is complete genius.
No other character in the manga has been shown to have this type of power. The only characters even notable to be mentioned in the art of seals is jiraya and orochamaru. We already know how powerful seals can be looking at Yondaime's seal he put on naruto to seal the kyubi inside of him... The cursed seal also made by orchamaru is used by sasuke religously. So seals can be used to draw out power, seals can seal a being like the kyubii... Seals are used for smning...., seals can act as a key or gateway to another place... Who else do you think is going to excel at the art of sealing.. My guess would be naruto... Seeing that he already can smn frogs using seals.... Theres no telling what other kind of sealing techniques naruto learned from jiraya.. And my guess is that Naruto's That Jutsu has something to do with or in the art of Sealing. Itachi prossess none of the above in the art of sealing. The sharingan is defenseless against sealings, One could go as far to say a great sealing artist like Minato could seal away the eyesight of the Sharingan or at least alter it.. If you look at the patterns of the MS and EMS, it looks like a type of seal and as we know seals can be altered.
Now lets look at barriers, I put these in the same catagory as seals because they seem very simliar for some reason to me.. we have Jiraya and Orochamaru yet again that have used these relgiously and there seems to be no way around them, barriers can give you aboslute defense where as itachi yet again has to use the sharingan's power or a power on a timer just to keep up in this area..... Jiraya had to improve a ton to be able to fight on the lvl of Pain as he did. His barrier techniques were amazing. So much that he didn't have to die if he didn't want to sacrifice his life. Then we have Orochamaru who cannot die to an Uchiha.. he has escapes all times.. and will continue to do so until he gets what he's after. Orochamaru used a barrier technique against the 4 tail kyubii naruto.. Which stopped a blast that seemed like to still pierce through it but was enough for him to be alive and kicking and enough for him to launch another attack. Which brings me back to yondaime who seems like a genius that excels greater than orchamaru and jiraya in these areas of ninjutsu. Im sure once we see more glimspes of the fight of Yondaime vs Kyubii and Madara he will use Barrier techniques that will amaze many.
So With the recent uprising of the itachi > Sannin and Minato .. I had to post this simply because of the fact that this is not true. He might be sannin lvl but he is not better than them and the reason why he is on that lvl is because of the Sharingan...A power thats on a timer... I love itachi he is one of my favorite character and is going to turn out to be working for Jiraya from the beginning i believe... But he is not Greater than the Sannin or Minato..
