Congratulations to Curry for winning the last SotW! :D She has until tomorrow night to pick a new topic!

I wont be entering anymore due to the fact its teams only voting for eachother. Im not saying this out of the blue, its something I have been aware of for a long time. And its not to critize the contest either, but when the same people win all the time, and dont always follow the topic, it gets a bit boring really. :I

Anyhow, congrats curry once again.

There should be a stronger winning rule.
You cant take part in the subsequent if you win more than 2/3 times in a row.

And yea, there indeed is a sense of bias.

No offence though, especially to Curry, as she did really well.
But we all also tried too. We deserve votes, dont we? at least for our efforts (:


Well, we had a ranking system for every sig out of 10 last time. SO everyone had to rate for every one. Winner is determined to highest rates added.

:zaru, hope something could be changed. No offence intended! Dont take any either.

voting will always be biaised when it's open voting.

Lets me honest. Everyone made their mind up Curry was going to win when people saw her entry. It was just great. I dont think anyone can deny it. Not taking anything away from anyones entries....well besides mine, mines was rubbish. :ano

So there is no elitist factor involved here. Shes just good. Thus she wins. Simple really. Heck if i can come second and i probably the worst contestant to ever take part, exactly how is this elitist? :oh So there is no bias voting going on here. Well i can safely say i dont vote based on baisness, i would assume others vote the same way. So please dont bring this stupied argument up over and over again. Its pointless and damaging for the actual contest not to mention insulting to those who actually try and make good entries. :amuse

i dont completely agree witht the bias, im not in any team or particularly friendly with anyone and i still get a fair few votes each week.
edit: just been accepted in to the sex pixels so thats no longer completely true but the point still stands.

but well done curry your sig was truely amazing, and deserved the win.

:oh I think you haven't understand what my opinion really is saying. Im just stating that if you are new, and makes a superb sig, you still wont have a chance to win due to the team-made voting. I really adore it when people actually post the reasons to why the sig is good, and dont just type down a few names from their team.

and to make this very clear, im not jealous at all. Only thing im pointing out is a trend im not really liking. Just trying to be a peacemaker :I

^ You are making a point indeed. it doesn't apply for all the time, but the pattern i have viewed is pretty damn clear that there is some team-voting going on.

Sorry, but for me all colours of the rainbow combined =/= decorative ;////

I must say that I'm hurt by your opinion. The only person in here that I know very very well is Tina, I like everyone, but I'm not overly friendly with anybody else. I'm not a part of any team. I never even tell my friends about these contests!
Additionally, I can recall some people who entered for the first or second time and got many votes.

Oh and if you're going to say that you didn't mean me, don't bother, because I won this contest for most times beside Vervex ;//////////

Its just teamvoting, and anti-ism, and all the crap that i keep hearing about the art teams. I just wanted to be informed of it, and to see if its possible to make the voting system more outspread and keening. and make the competition more interesting? D:

Yeah, but the only two who keep winning is Vervex and me. The rest win from time to time only, I think only Yuurei and Mura won more than 3 times, and they're both damn good.

I seriously see no problem here. Even if some people do vote for their friends, or vote so that they accumulate more points than others (yes, it is palpable in some instances), I've never seen someone who won with a bad sig. All tags that can be seen in the Hall of Fame earned their victory in a fair way.

Lovey, I assure you that there were people who got many votes despite being new. Hell, I've been voting every week for more than half a year!

And how exactly am I elitist? :D: I'm a Jun 2007 noob :D:
 
even though its a good idea its not completely fool proof, people like curry and vervex and even me half certian styles in there work so it would still be possible to work out whos sig belongs to who
 
ok lets talk about people :p

curry is a brilliant artist with some great, skill and a great eye for detail. she is one of the one people i have a great respect for.

creator is just funny and never stops trying, some times he wont dont do so well, but he keeps trying thats very inspirational.

foxspirt. just a cool nice guy. good work too.

Gallic Rush, should be respected, he says what he truely thinks, and is honest, something you dont really get a lot of.

vervex. good work and a fair ruler :p dont really know much about her, but i like her all the same

frajosg, another person i like, i was a little dissapointed over recent events but i wont hold that against him. plus hes got a successful shop

Most entries this week were terrible and ugly. No offense but Curry and Pearl Master were the only ones that could have won this competition fairly.

Yes, sometimes votes are biased, but in this case, they weren't.

Anyway, stopping with the fight, votes will always be somewhat biased, public or not. If they are public, you take the risks that people will vote for their friends. If they are private, you take the risk that the judges will always vote for the same style or their friends too.

There is no perfect voting, unless the entries would all be anonymous and the voters too. And that would be a mess. For me who counts the votes and mods everything especially. In example, what if I forgot to link entries I received? Or if someone made a mistake and didn't send it to me? Plus, the styles of each one of us are recognizable, at least Curry's, Byakko's, Creator's, hello world's, GR's and some others are very obvious. Votes would still be biased...

I want to keep the voting public because I believe we are all mature enough to vote for the best signatures. Sometimes the same people keep winning, but we must wonder - is it only because the person is popular? or they truly deserve their victory? Is their style fresh, new and innovative?

Concerning Curry, I say yes, so I don't believe the votes were really biased.

(I wonder how I got so many points though :|)
