I am questioning what to do with this section, its been around forever but I think I have to draw a line when I see threads from two calendar years ago. I am open to suggestions to improve the place, if we can't think of any, I think its time to put the old girl out of her misery.

If there is no activity in this thread, then you can consider this a notice of closure and will be done on Februrary first.

What purpose is that? The only thing even resembling activity is the current gundam series threads, which can easily be moved to the main section. For the rare one off questions about which gundam series to watch or anything like that can be asked in the akihabara lounge, there is no demand right now that requires a entire gundam section. I can't allow things to go on just because tradition, we got to look forward to the future.

Thats said, I don't like just removing thing, I want to see if something can be salvaged before getting ride of it, which is why I made this thread instead of just saying "hey guys, section will be archived on X date".
 
I wouldn't be sad if this section got axed. Unless some resurgence in Gundam is upon us that asks for all the real estate, then I would disagree. But there isn't, so I think it's okay to get rid of it.

Thread is still open to talk about, but I will be making my decision on the section sooner rather then later.

Alright, putting the section on notice. The current gundamn series thread will be moved to the Akihabara main district, the rest will be archived. If there needs to be a thread salvaged or someone wants to salvage a thread, feel free to message me.

I am going to submit the request February 15th.

It's probably too late for this suggestion and I doubt it'd even be considered:noworries; but I thought it'd be viable to keep the more recent threads in one place, drop the old as fuck threads, and then simply turn it into a Mecha anime section:maybe.

I mean, Code Geass is returning with a series or movie sometime in the next year and there's another Macross series coming in 2018:cat; and besides those two, I'm sure there'll always be some other Robot anime airing alongside the yearly Gundam series:edu.

I like the idea, maybe it might be something to consider in the future if we start to see a wave of new mecha anime or we go down a road where we start making categories for anime.
 
^I didn't even consider the idea of categorizing and making separate sections for all the different genres:psyduck; but thinking about it, maybe that's something that should happen someday, since it could potentially bring in more diversified blood to the forums:maybe.

Anyway, glad you liked the idea, even though it's only a vague dream in a sea of possibilities:urahaha.
