So...Team Gai actually isn't useless.

It's just Kishi can't use them. They'd be too broken. How all fights involving them should go.

Team is walking towards opponent. Neji sees them from ridonkulously far away.
Neji; Tenten, target at angle x, distance y.
TT; Sets up sniper shot.
Lee stands guard.
TT; Firing explode on contact kunai.

Fight over. That's how every fight with them should go. I'm impressed Kishi developed such a good team. Shame he doesn't want to/know how to use them.
 
Yeah they are so broken that they couldn't catch up with an armless Deidara who would have killed them all with an explosive clone if it wasn't for Kakashi :amuse
 
I'm not certain if it is a matter of them being too good, but more so that the story does not call for their inclusion. I assume they will be shown with greater time in the future, though the focus has been stated to revolve around the Uchiha clan - more specifically Sasuke.
 
i mean that team is beastly. but it's not about them.

the show revolves around naruto(my mistake) SASUKE and team 7.

while lee and neji SHOULD be put into more fights, because being serious, they OWN,i doubt they will be seen again for a looooooooooooong time.every team needs a chance to shine, team shikamaru's time is done, team gai is done, and now it's team 8's turn( i doubt they will kill any akatuski... but they should. cuz shino is beastly too and i want to see hinata's new moves.)

but team gai is FAR from useless.

I personally think Team Gai should get a spin off series, where Lee works hard to defeat Neji and become a taijutsu master, Neji tries to transform the Hyuuga traditions, and Tenten tries to prove herself as a credible kunoichi (while winning the love a certain teammate). Come on, it would be a witty and funny series with a lot of action and possibly romance and drama. I would watch it. The Team Gai characters have sooo much potential, I would like to see them get more screen time.

Yup.

Mizu Bunshins hold 10% of user's chakra. Shouten Kisame only had 30% chakra. Now 10% of that is 3%. On top of that Kisame flooded the battleground loosing considerable amount of chakra.

So it's basically Neji, Lee and Tenten lost to < 3% Kisame. :edu

sorry, there is no place for fodders in manga. Lee is all right. But Neji, and Gai are waste of precious panel time and precious $$$.

No, not actually. Neji freed himself and rest of them. After a single strike of his Jyuuken, Kisame was sent flying. Kakashi lost to a 10% Zabuza who doesn't even have Shouten clone Kisame level chakra, and his sharingan couldn't do shit to save him. Neji is the only character who can escape a water prison. Only someone with an agenda would post something like you just did, it is not far off from trolling.

Team Gai isn't useless, they are the best team of the original genin group.
 
Team Gai is neither weak nor useless. It 30 % Kisame not 3%. The manga is about Sasuke, so they're not gonna do as much as he does. They are a good team and Kishi has just created way too many characters to focus on all of them.

BTW, Kakashi could not beat 10 % Zabuza.

I'll agree they aren't useless anymore.... but overall best of all the original grps? Team 7 beats them hands down.... and if Shikamaru is in HidanPwningHaxMode his team probably beats them as well..... also you should count the Sand 3 as one of the genin grps and they beat them as well...... so at best they're 3rdish. Tenten being on the team is the ultimate handicap.... every match goes from 3v3 to 2v3 instantly.

They were never useless in my opinion Becuase They have Speed:Rock Lee, A Scouter:Neji and A long range fighter: Ten-Ten
 
Ten-Ten is necessary for the team because it puts the male members on the top of their game. If she wasn't dying atm, Neji prolly would've taken longer to figure out how to escape, and Gai might've been killed or routed if he had delayed using Gate 7. Or something like that. :edu Also, her flirting with both male members probably acted as a catalyst for Lee and Neji's rivalry. It's the same with all kunoichis.

Anyway, 1010 is useful. She's just not capable.
