Old DCU Shazam! Fury of the Gods (March 17, 2023)


Good trailer, they set up the stakes without making it feel too doom and gloom that it'll contrast with Shazam's tone.

Calling it a mini avenger movie is strange

Shazam always feel low scale

Funny enough Ant-Man is similar and they said the same thing and that didn't go entirely well
 
The villains look like they are the good guys. You can’t feel any tension from them.

Why the fuck this movie even exist?
 
Black Adam getting a solo film likely cucked them from having a known villain for the sequel so they made filler villains. Should have just used mister mind but it's likely they wanted to do a trilogy using the monster society

Black Adam’s villain is also a weak ass CGI monster who can’t do shit.

Damage Comics can’t pull anything worthwhile out of their asses for you to get invested.

The reboot was justified but I don’t trust Gunn to do any better. Even now they are going for quantity instead of quality. This shit is retarded.
 
Social media reaction so far has been positive and at this point that's all I care about. I enjoyed a lot the first film so hopefully this won't be that much different.

 
Sometimes I imagine Mider T as a high school english teacher who finds joy in grading papers.
 
This will be interesting since the studio seems to be headed in a new direction. Will fans show up? 53M opening for the first film? I think they are projected to top that. :hm
 
Saw it. It’s more of the same silly fun action as the same movie, just with more “fam’ly” in it and a no-longer-secret cameo.

It’s exactly what you’d expect from a Shazam sequel. It’s good, but not amazing.
