Sarutobi's prime.

Sarutobi, the proffesser of Konoha. He knew every single jutsu that Konoha had to offer. He managed to defeat Shodai and Nidaime's reincarnates and nearly defeated Oro. But due to his age, he was not able to. Oro said that if the Third were 10 years younger, he would have won.

He knew every single jutsu in Konoha, but could not preform them all due to his old age. With the great pwnsomeness of Sarutobi, it makes me wonder.

How strong was Sarutobi when he was in his prime?

Out of the most godly ninja in the naruto series, who would he defeat?

Minato?
Shodai?
Madara?
Pein?
Jiraiya?
Itachi?
Sasuke?
Hanzou?
etc...
 
Pretty much all of them!!!!however the real question is how strong is konohamaru going to get!!!!
 
Kohonmaru has a large shadow to surpass. He has to surpass Asuma first before the Third. And i dont think Hidan would stand a chance in hell against Sarutobi.
 
Konohamaru is gonna end up the strongest an i see him the Hokage before Naruto but for certain reasons but i bet Sarutobi was kickass, but i dont think he could do all the techs in his prime i mean he's not a Goku.
 
Sarutobi in his prime was the strongest. I think he would struggle with a lot of those people but he would probably still win.

Im not to sure about Pein but I guess Sarutobi could just seal all 6 the bodies away but that would be more like a tie.
 
I really think he would struggle against a prime Fourth. Remember the Fourth was probably not even in his prime when he was killed. He probably had not gotten there yet. Sarutobi's prime was probably somewhere around his 40's or 50's. At least we know he could have easily killed Orochimaru before the Fourth became Hokage, but chose not to. That tells me a Shinobi's prime in life comes later in life and not at the early age of the Fourth when he was killed.
 
I'm pretty sure that Madara would win. Having a jutsu specialist up against someone who probably has the strongest Sharingan known is not a good match. Fighting Minato would be tough too; countering Hirashin and Rasengan would be very difficult

Well, I think a prime Sarutobi would squash Orochimaru like a bug. Orochimaru was really not even close to Sarutobi's level before he gained his immortality jutsu, and he only managed that after fleeing Konoha, which I guess around the Fourth got named Hokage.
 
The only one I see him possibly tying with or losing to in his prime is Hanzou from what Jiraiya said of him. Matter of fact, the only other shinobi who would put him in such a clutch are Hanzou, Minato, Pein, Madara, Shodai (even though he surpassed him) and White Fang (more legendary than the Sannin which more than likely includes his strength). Itachi would be up there too based on showing alone, but his power ranking doesn't add up to the others like Madara and Shodai for obvious reasons...

Strongest kage of the strongest village amongst the Top 5? It's hard to say he would lose to anyone 1-on-1 in his prime...

well, the logic doesn't always work in manga. in prime, madara was able to summon Kyuubi. Sarutobi would lose to Madara and to Kyuubi.

oK MAYBE But come on Prime are you trying to say he didnt have Kyubi when he fought Shodai i mean its his pet he had to break it in at some point:p but idk i still think Saru PWNs until Yondy comes on the scene:amuse
 
Simply put, Sarutobi prime = God of Shinobis >>> All
No other shinobi has reached his level yet.
Only the final villain of the series might reach that level.

He was on the same level as the Sannin, not above them. I'd put the Sannin on the same level as those other guys anyway, or at worst just one level beneath them, and not so low that they are not capable of killing them in an all-out fight even if they were not as good.

Remember that Jiraiya and Oro were both pegged to replace Sandaime- Jiraiya did'nt want the job and Oro was just too hardcore for it- and Tsunade ended up getting it (the Village Elders seemed to think she was better for the job than Jiraiya, since when he suggested her their only objection was "we don't now where she is").

The Sannin are seriously underrated around here, though they are not the only ones.
 
To me In Sarutobi's prime, he was a very skilled Shinobi with a large arsenal of jutsus, and with his monkey and pole summoning. But besides that, he didn't have any special Kekkei Genkai or anything. Which is what I think makes him weaker against other people of his stature with a eye technique or with a Kekkei Genkai. The fact that he rivaled Orochimaru's powers at his prime, also proves that he wasn't that strong to begin with.
 
I'd say none of them. However Im the only one that thinks Sarutobi isn't pure pwnage. Konoha's jutsus? Blowing fireballs, some doton I guess and a lot of ninpou he doesn't even uses. His doton was cool but (even) Yamato can do that better.
His summon is cool but I just don't think he's really that great. He doesn't have some own trick jutsus. Perhaps that's what makes him cool but I don't know if that makes him strong.
