Return of Jafar or Forty Thieves?

Which was the better sequel?

I got into an argument at work about this, someone actually claimed that Return of Jafar was not only the better Aladdin sequel, but the best Disney Sequel. I was just wondering who shared this sentiment.

I remember that, but what is this Forty Thieves business? :confused

I'd say RoJ (as it's called on the scene) is a pretty solid sequel. As far as Disney goes, anyway. Every other Disney sequel I ever heard about was shit. :mad

If I had to pick best Disney sequel, Toy Story 2 all the way...or Shrek 2 if that counts. But just out of these movies I would have to still say 40 thieves. It came out a little later, and its like Aladdin and Jasmine's wedding (which I had always assumed happened between one and two) but the movie involved Aladdin's father.

I didn't even know he had a father! :omg

Although I do remember something about 40 thieves in a movie at some point... hmm.. :headscrat

I've one of the sequels. Methinks t'is RoJ.

Just checked, t'is.

Vaguely remember seeing KoT, but can't recall much of it.

I'll go with RoJ.

40 thieves. It brought about the ultimate closure to the movie series, and alladin's heritage.

....What are you looking at me for? Its OKAY for a guy to watch disney movies yanno ><

Return of Jafar.

The King of Thieves sequel just seemed.. I don't know.. weird. :arg The whole father/son thing was nice and all, but.. eh. I liked that Robin Williams returned as the Genie, though.

First of all, your friend is wrong. The greatest disney sequel of all time is Toy story 2.....hands down. Anyway, I say return of jafar is the better sequel.

I'd say Return of Jafar is better overall, but Robin Williams made those movies for me so I liked King of Thieves better. Overall, that movie felt like a fanfiction or a long episode of that tv series though...

Totally agree on the Toy Story 2 thing.

Return of Jafar had shit animation.

That, and I can't condone hyping a villain who just died or whatever in the previous film. Way to expand a franchise and take it in new directions.

"You liked Jafar in the last movie!? Well, here he is again! Enjoy!"

At least give me time to miss the fucking guy.

To me the third movie felt more like cannon than the second. It reminded me of all those sequels to FF7 people write where Sephiroth comes back. Also I found this out from wikipedia, the third movie was actually the end to the tv series too.

The Jafar one was good. I gotta say it was the best Disney sequel to one of their own canon movies next to Lion King 2.

40 Thieves. Much more comical and a way better plot. Plus Jasmine in her wedding dress? Bitch please.

RoJ is good too. That's back when Disney sequels were legit. Now it's like Cinderella 4.7 That Mice Fight Back.

Great poll!

Roj is the only one (besides the original Aladin) That I remember so Im going to say Roj. (Im pretty sure I have seen 40 thieves but I dont remember it..)

Return of Jafar sets up the TV series. Its the reason why Iago is with Aladdin and co. as opposed to being stuck with Jafar.

I like KoT better since it featured some allegories from two different novels/stories: Ali Baba and the Midas Touch. Storywise, I'm going with KoT too...

But RoJ ain't bad, though. I just seem to like KoT better.

It does'nt; it's not Disney.

He did'nt die in the first one. He was sealed away in a Lamp, and you can hear him and Iago bickering inside afterwards.

He never got any sort of closure until this one.
