So. Finally, the fight that has been hyped from the beginning of the manga is seemingly over. Has it lived up to your expectations? how good was it?
vote and discuss away.

It was ok. I expected more of Itachi. Honestly, I expected him to put up more of a fight. I wanted this match to be either back and forward or Itachi dominating most of the fight like Sasuke because of the Itachi hype. I like the Deidara vs Sasuke fight a bit better than this fight.

The fight was a bit one sided, but it was ok.

7/10

It was a decent arc that had its charm, though overall and in comparison to some other matches it was quite average (especially considering the amount of hype!).

plagued by PNJ!

Well, maybe not plagued, but PnJ (my hatredz beatz urz m-sharinganz lulz) played massive role here
Ending would be cool, but... oh fuck you Raito, FUCK YOU!
4/10

Crap start, gradually got better. The only things I thought were good were Susanowo (not when it was a lamer skeleton, but when it had a cool sword (sadly it was only used against Oro whom I hoped we were rid of already)) and the latest chapter.

One of the best fights in the manga. We were shown what is probably the strongest jutsu that has been introduced, and it had an epic Orochimaru pwning in it.

We all knew from the start that Sasuke wasnt going to lose, but it was a good fight anyway though I find it really hard to accept the way Itachi loses.

I don't really like to use that word but you have to admit that Itachi falling right when he was going to take Sasukes eyes is clearly PNJ.

i think this fight was OK. yes PNJ was always going to be there but it firmly established that sasuke still has a ways to go, showed us many high level techniques and gave us excuses to see sasuke escaping them :zaru. no but in all seriousness, the fight did get better as it went on.

9/10.
Fucking epic, since it is the absolute most hyped fight of the whole manga. The jutsus were badass, both of them showed what they can do, and I liked the way it ended.

4-6/10

Okay fight but alot of flaws.

A weak ending after so much build up

And worse, all the emotions of a leek.

Maybe the next chapter can put another point or two on but I get the feeling that both I am the rest of the forum are sick of the Uchihas now and want to move on.

Started out a little weak with all the genjutsu, but the finish was good. Wish there was some more strategy/tactics to it, like the Neji vs. Kidoumaru fight. Looking forward to seeing the Sasuke/Itachi fight animated more than the Jiraiya/Pein fight.

^^^ i was really hoping for some strategy (besides kirin), i did want it to be a brain-racking brawl displaying some killer jutsu. it definetaly delivered on the jutsus but strategy...

6/10

Might have been rated higher if the manga hasn't been hyping this fight up for what, seven... eight years. I probably had too high of expectations, so it might be a lot on the part of the fan but oh well.

Nothing remarkably fantastic about this fight, some good moments, some bad. Basically, the only thing I found this more exceptional than any other fight was 1. Susano-o, which is cool only in its mystery and 2. Itachi got to poke Sasuke in the forehead in the end. The emotion at that part was fantastic.

It was good.

The genjutsu chapters at the start really weren't that bad; there was some good stuff in there. Then the battle of the big jutsu was very entertaining, especially once Kirin was used - the fight felt genuinely epic after that, as epic as such an important fight should be. The length and pacing was mostly about right, and the ending was fitting and nice.

There only major problem was that Itachi used Tsukuyomi too early; there should have been another chapter before that, with some non-genjutsu action. A bit of taijutsu, more simple ninjutsu, etc.

One other thing I liked about it is that I thought it was genuinely unpredictable. Throughout the whole fight, I couldn't predict what would happen next, or even who would win in the end (admittedly all this talk about Kishimoto saying this was their final battle swayed me towards Sasuke, but I still wasn't sure). This is quite a rarity in Naruto.

I need to go back and re-read the whole thing, but for now I think it's an 8/10. Probably the most enjoyable big fight in part 2.

I love how you assume you speak for the "rest of the forum". Anyway, I give it a 8/10 as a whole. Some things could have been executed better but it was honestly exactly what I expected from these two. Susano'o was a nice surprise as well, just too bad it was shortlived.

It was great, if not the exact way I imagined it. I loved Itachi's final head-poke :laugh

My one issue with this fight is that sharingan's copy ability seems to have been forgotten :(. Itachi must have been in loads of fights as an Akatsuki, and should therefore have a pile of assimulated jutsu that could have been thrown out as an apetizer before rolling in MS.

This battle turned Sasuke into a raving drunken potty mouth.

LOL

What happened to that: "Tell that man I will wait for him outside of humanity," c0ol?

I'd give it 8.5/10. I'll have a better idea of how good this was when it begins to make more sense...

It was a great fight. I love the genjutsu bit in the beginning, unlike most people, and from there til the end it was a great fight with some awesome jutsus.

Though I would've expected more strategy and less area-effect jutsu from those two.

I would say 9/10. Probably can be a 10 if the next chapter really has some interesting emotional flashbacks or revelations.

I give it an 8/10. The fight was pretty good better than others but I'm a bit disappointed that Itachi didn't show any of his regular ninjutsu and dissed high level strategies that really kept Sasuke on his toes.

Sasuke did well his part but Itachi was such a disappointment, nothing more then sharingan tricks to show and not very smart into use those suicide techniques, i still love him for all the badass status he had during most of the manga, but after this fight he looks a bit weak!

Anyway i voted this "well, it was okay, i knew sasuke wouldnt be allowed to lose so..."

Basically agree with this.

Too bad Sasuke couldn't win without jobbing and being given everything by Kishimoto on a silver platter. Stylistically, 6/10. Creativity, 2/10, Realism 4/10. I will admit that I liked the continuation of the Buddhist theme, everything from the shape of the shrine to the legendary sword Itachi possessed.

7/10 for the first time reading it, 8/10 for reading it over completely and looking better that way, 9/10 for the ending, and it'll be a 10/10 if I see Sasuke breakdown next chapter or something of the sort.

I give the fight an 8/10. It was one heck of a brawl, but I was a bit disappointed when Itachi didn't use any regular ninjutsu instead of the Mangekou Sharingan techniques or display taijutsu skills. For a long time now others and myself have been waiting to see how well rounded Itachi is.

3/10.

The 3 is being generous to Susanoo and Orochimaru's final-final form.

The rest was PnJ (Sasuke's plot shield met our expectations despite the odds) coupled with character undevelopment and linearization (Itachi went from possibly highly complex individual to stereotypical, power-hungry villain).

It also made Itachi look like the Fail of all Fails which hurts since I liked Itachi...when he was awesome.
