What was Itachi whispering?

Figured I would try to help out and hopefully keep the number of threads speculating on what Itachi's last words were to a minimum. Have at it!

Itachi's mumbling whisper?

Was the whispering/mumbling more talk about Itachi wanting to slowly torture Sasuke and take his eyes, or was Itachi whispering something completely from left field?
 
What did Itachi say to Sasuke...

Reading through 393, Itachi says something to Sasuke that is "inaudible" to the reader and Zetsu, but clearly shocked Sasuke.

What do you guys guess he said to Sasuke.

I'm gonna go with either:
1) Forgive me, Sasuke.
2) Live, Sasuke.

I actually don't really think it's (1) because why would Kishi keep that a secret?

Something along the lines of (2) seems right... I think some statement to redeem Itachi.

Something about Madara and the murder of the Uchiha clan. I won't call Itachi a "good guy", but clearly he had some other goal besides being powerful and he imparted his goal to Sasuke.

My personal theory is that Itachi wanted to avenge his clan (no matter what the cost, including his brother) but now realizes Sasuke is the better man for the job.
 
Did Sasuke understand Itachi's last inaudible words?



Notice how Itachi mumbles something, then smiles, then there's Sasuke's "!?", then of course comes the poke.
 
Probably something like "Uchiha are the sons of god, go to heaven and get sum fuckin angel wings and become Hokagus Maximus".
 
my guess is, he was confused why he would say what he said
and my guess onwhat he said " foolish little brother"
sasuke's reaction would fit, hed proly think "wtf? why'd he say that?"
or sumtin *shrugs*
 
"Just kidding." Heh, but really, I think Itachi could have said something ground shattering. Having him end it by saying something expected like calling Sasuke foolish would be rather annoying to me. Somehow hinting at there being more to Madara or the massacre perhaps. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if Itachi went out whispering about "my...eyes..." still. >.>;

Sasuke's "!?" reaction makes me think you're right about it being something totally unexpected. So I seriously doubt it was referring to "my eyes" unless he was saying "take them" as well.
 
probably something mysterious and neutral neither making him seem a good guy nor a stereotpyical aggressive villian line such as "goodbye brother"
