I thought I'd make a thread for discussing characters new to the English manga.

So far, new characters to Part 2 are Deidara, Sasori, Chiyo and some minor characters.

So, to start off, how do you like the new characters so far? How powerful do you think Deidara is?
How are the designs different?

I think the Akatsuki is a pretty powerful group not to take lightly. I don't expect nothing less from these characters.
 
So the english trans is as far as the german one? Interesting.

At this point in the manga, I thought Deidara is mighty cool. Sasori didn't seem that impressive, I didn't like the design.
 
Both Deidara and Sasori seem awesome. :pek

The rest of Akatsuki look like a lot more interesting in comparison to Oro and his sound fodder. Except for Kimimaro, he fucking rocked. :pek
 
I believe that Sasori seems very interesting in my opinion. He is the grandson of Chiyo and it is interesting to see more shinobi from the Sand Village other than the Sand Siblings.
 
At this point, it's true Sasori's design seems boring and one-dimensional. He seems too inhuman.

Aw, I actually liked the other Sound 4 as well as Orochimaru.
 
Don't make too harsh judgments of the characters as of yet. Theres more to Sasori than meets the eye.
 
Well, I hope all of those new characters didn't die just yet.
Because, I know there's a lot to learn from them.

Yes, they were just introduced but as Part II seems to be focusing more on the Akatsuki, at some point a majority of them will probably die. As for when, hopefully not soon.
 
I admit when I first read it I didn't like Sasori because of his design as well but... Well, you know. :LOS
 
I'm liking the character designs of the Akatsuki we are seeing so far. Sasori seems interesting with what he can do. Deidara, I'm impressed with his use of jutsu and he gives off a cool vibe to me. :amuse

badass, i like sasori all around. he gives u the idea that akatsuki my have more to it than meets the eye. because someone like sasori wouldnt be in it otherwise.
 
I want 2 see that plant guy in the akatsuki fight

Deidara - How do you pronounce that anyway "DEE-DAR-AH"? And what is up with the thing in his eye? Also, what village is he from? Maybe I will find out in upcoming manga. I like his use of clay infused with charka from his hand-mouth - that is pretty sweet. He is cool how he calls his jutsu 'art'. How come he says "hmmm" all the time? Maybe I will have to see the anime to get his personality better.

Sasori - So this is the guy that created puppet jutsu and he is from the Sand Village also... it is nice to learn more about the origins of jutsu and about the Sand Village too.

The old peoples - I am very interested in the background between Chiyo and The White Fang! Who is he and what did he do to her son (would that be Sasori's father??).

He's from Iwagakure (the Stone Village) He says "Hm" because it's a speech impediment, I suppose. Kind of like Naruto's Dattebayo/Believe it, or "Hell Yeah!" for Sakura. The thing in his eye is a scope. It can take pictures and declare things as over 9000.

Yeah, that would be Sasori's father. (not White Fang, the other guy who is nameless.)

Sasori is by far my favorite character in this manga.

Sasori is one of my favorite characters. He?s not the creator of puppetry, but he is good at it. But as you say, it?s definitely good to learn more about the Sand Village from Sasori.

From the manga, it seems like the White Fang killed them.

I went back and looked and I saw Deidara's headband and saw it was the stone village. I should have looked closer before posting the question - :p

I dont know what I think about Sasori just yet. He is ugly, that is for sure! LOL! So, is he human? Why is he hunched over like he is? And that massive tail! WTH is that1?!?!?! He looks like he might be 1/2 human and 1/2 puppet...
 
I like them all especially sasori. but diadara, i mean he puts chackra into clay .......hummmm who else do we know who puts chacra in an object that can slide striaght through his fingers....sand....clay.
 
Sasori is way more then he seems. He's definately interesting for sure. Sasori's such a cutie, I swear. :>
Deidara is my second favourite. :D

It's pronouced DAY-DARA you guys. ~_^

That's the easiest way to figure out how to say it.

Deidara is the sex. He's so hot, my favourite character.
