Neon Genesis Evangelion: Are You Satisfied With the Ending?

NGE had an ending? I guess that's one of those things you have to watch it twice to see:zaru

No, I wasn't satisfied with either the TV or the movie endings, both were a steaming pile of philosophical bull liberally smeared over the plot to obscure Anno's utter fail as a writer. I guarantee that even he himself didn't understand it, except maybe when he was high.

Pretty much. ^

I feel it was a cop out. Rather than try and explain the unexplainable he came up with some random shit so people would have to determine their own ending, or interpret the nonsense he created. Less pressure on him, I guess.

I lol'ed at the endings for a number of reasons, don't really feel like typing them all though

Let's just say that the biggest reason I laughed was because of how much I've heard about it prior to actually seeing it myself

The first time i saw it, it wasn't actually kinda bad...

Then i discovered the marvelous world of fandom. And then i imagined if Shinji weren't a wimp but a actually a fuckawesome hot-blooded pilot. I'm still working on that.

As long as Rebuild has atleast a DECENT ending, then i'm happy.

TV ending was FAIL.

EoE was much better IMO. It actually explained what the hell happened. Also epic mindfuck was epic.

Never watched EoE, I'm not even spoiled. :oh

I was satisfied with the TV series ending, I just assume the world would be destroyed and before everything ends Shinji could resolve his psychological problem.
This is the manual of how to rest in peace when you are mentally insane. :zaru

Plus, I heard EoE was made to piss off fans and if the world isn't destroyed at the end I'd be sad. For once, there's an apocaliptycal ending with crazy characters trying to be heroes and defend the world. :S

Thats what he did...and wanted, both Endings were for Fans (and himself) to get their onw meaning out of that Anime. Thats why it is an Unique one, theres noone out there to explain it for everyone, you have to find it for yourself.

EoE was just easier to understand than the TV Ending, thats all...

The series ending was shit indeed. Thankfully, they came up with EoE. I'm not entirely satisfied by the EoE ending but at least it's better.
