My theory on Sasuke's vision of Itachi's "death"

You know how Sasuke told Itachi that he saw him dead?

Well I have a theory on how he meant it, and it's not what everyone thinks.

He meant it figuratively.

Itachi will not die physically, but whatever "evil" is in Itachi will die. I think that when Itachi's eye bled like that, that he was losing his sharingan ability/bloodline totally, and I think that whatever gave the clan the sharingan is what made Itachi possibly do evil things.

So basically, the "evil Itachi" will die, but Itachi himself will live on physically.

What do you think?
 
I think you want Itachi to be a bystandard instead of a villain. Eh, I won't deny the possibility, but I doubt he was possesed by the sharingan's evil. I think he was just power hungry. Which I dislike because I wanted Itachi to be a double agent or something, but it appears he was a willing participant in Madara's plan to kill the clan.:(

That's just what Kishimoto wants you to think right now so you'll be as surprised and happy as everyone will be to find out that he IS good.:)

I doubt it, seeing as Sasuke isn't that sort of person. He'll go for the blunt kill.

No, Sasuke wouldn't do that, he's the opposite of that kind of person. He has a code of honor and he really isn't violent, he never wants to kill anyone, he's had oppurtunities to do so but never did, because he's gentle at heart.
 
Slamming people with overpowered lightning bolts over the head is hardly what any sane person would consider means of rehabilitating them.

It seems far more suitable for, say, murder.

:notrust Yet, he has stated repeatedly that he wants to kill Itachi, and he recently admitted to wanting to kill Madara. He will kill anyone who gets in his way of revenge.
 
I just somehow have a hard time seeing Sasuke letting Itachi live... something about a life based around killing him really throws me off...
 
But I think he's trying to kill the evil inside Itachi, not Itachi himself.

He's probably researched it and found out that the Sharingan power causes evil in the user, so he knows it's not Itachi's fault.

Sasuke is speaking in metaphor when he says he wants to kill Itachi, he wants to kill the Sharingan power in Itachi so Itachi can be normal again.

That's my theory.

So he had to weaken Itachi's body enough to bleed out the power.

Killing him with Kirin is an attempt to "weaken" Itachi? Sasuke already said he was an avenger. He plans to do to Itachi what Itachi did to their clan. Kill.

He probably knew it wouldn't kill Itachi.

And I think he knows Itachi either didn't kill the clan, or if he did he was manipulated to. I mean Itachi was a normal person until he joined ANBU and started using Mangekyo so that's proof that he was controlled to do anything bad later on.

I'm sure Sasuke remembers all that.
 
I suppose this theory could be possible if we consider the fact that Sasuke chose not to kill Naruto. Maybe there was more to it than Sasuke simply not wanting to gain power in the same ways as Itachi. Maybe he knew deep down inside that the Mangekyo would possess him and turn him evil... but you should really change the original theory to specify that the MS is what causes evil, not just the Sharingan, because if the normal Sharingan is what turned Itachi evil and Sasuke knew it, there would be no way that Sasuke would use it
 
You know what you just said about Itachi going crazy after he joined ANBU just made me think of that root guy and how people are saying hes TOBI/MADARA. Does make ya think. He could be and hes using the ANBU to his own advantage, either that or Madara is using that Donzou? guy somehow? Who knows. Just popped into my head and I thought I would share it. :D
 
if you believe that theory, then you have to conceed that kakashi is evil as well. if that is true, than why would kakashi help out all the good guys and not kill everyone on a whim... sry, but your theory doesnt hold water...

Maybe kakashi is only HALF evil :p

Or maybe Kakashi isn't evil because the Shaingan isn't his... maybe this "evil" is deeply rooted in Uchiha genetics

actually that ain't too shabby!!the fact kakashi is pure for the good, his sharingan could be different!!

also that root idea is quite good aswell hmmmmm
 
It's not dumb.:notrust I'm pretty sure it's correct, as soon as it's safe to post about the latest chapter I'm going to be posting a topic in the Library that will explain all this further. Because I'm pretty sure I've figured the whole mystery out and what will happen to Itachi and Sasuke.:)

I don't think Kakashi is pure good, look what he did to Kakuzu for no reason other than revenge.
 
No I don't think so. Sasuke meant what he said literally. He wants Itachi dead. Like really dead.
