But with everything that's happened between the current Itachi vs Sasuke battle I think we're all liable for a conclusion now. Hopefully I'm not just speaking for myself, but frankly, the fight is wearing thin. I think there is only so much power you can exemplify before you begin to milk it and I'm sure it's agreeable that we are satisfied with the output of both characters. So, why haven't we seen a winner? Why can't we finally put to rest this battle and finally begin to build on the foundations of forwarding he primary plot?
I won't lie to any of you, Sasuke is my favourite character in this manga. However, if he dies here, he dies. It will be a shame, but I can see what the manga can gain from his death. Several possibilities emerging from his defeat even, such as Naruto battling with the ideology of revenge just as Sasuke had done. I can even see two birds killed with one stone, Sasuke destroying his eyes, leaving them both in a state of blindness and defeat. The manga can experience beautiful irony in a way that can only fuel the next addition to the plot.
Coincidentally, I'm having difficulty processing further because of something that sits on my mind. Folks, that is the possibility of interference. How crude and yet plausible is it that while we're watching a great battle and obviously rooting for a winner and a loser, we get neither. I think it would be an absolute farce if there was some sort of interference, which removed the need of a concrete winner from this. Luckily, Oro has been destroyed (if not in an even worse display than last time) showing that whatever is left of this fight will be based around those two alone. That is of course, someone else decides to rain on this parade.
Also, is Itachi's eyes looking weird to anyone? Dilated perhaps?
