Ok don't u all think comics are a bit for kids? I mean those ilustrated pictures and all that.....

:facepalm

There's comics and mangas for kids, there's comics and mangas for grownups, you can't generalize.

My name is Lil' Mo and I approve this message.

Also, isn't saying something "rules" a bit childish? Based on your logic, I guess you should be reading comics...

Also, you're in a naruto forum, and naruto is targeted at kids :awesome

I dare you to list the reasons why, with cited examples.

Comic books are just another medium of story, like cinema, art, and literature.
Slitting your wrist with a twig is easier than debating with CBG.

You best step the fuck down now :LOS

i'll list one proof. mangas are so much better than comic books that it stole the comic readership and comics had to adapt manga styles.

arent comics just as diverse as manga? i've always meant to get into comics but never got round to it

You'd think that's a reason at first, but people also buy more boulevard magazines than anything, and even "serious" papers have to adapt some boulevard in them.

Does that make them better?

(Side note: I read mainly mangas and didn't even read 100 pages of american comics)

I'll be the first to admit that I'd take manga over comics anyday

Then again I'd also be the first to admit that Hulk was my favorite fictional character :zaru

anyway CBG has noticed the thread now so I suggest giving up

They're the same thing, aren't they? I mean, seriously, other than mangas being black and white and typically Asian derivative, and written by a single writer/artist, what's the difference?

I can't say which I prefer. I was into comic books first, but my favorite characters are manga characters, and I keep up with manga more than comics now, but I'm getting back into comics again, and X-Factor and Runaways are winning me back into steady reading/collecting.

I think the opening post is a bit retarded, all said and done.

In before hammer striketh:mallet

Isn't Manga japanese for comics?
'Cause where I live it's a kind of fruit used for gay drinks.

Stupid generalized post. Seriously I hate people like this. Same with comic fans that hate manga. Ignorant fucks.

I distinctly remember a Heroes episode where Hiro speaks of the time line discoverys made by kitty pride from the X-Men and Ando goes

MANGAAAA?!:S

So we're going by widespread popularity now? Or by story quality?

Comic readerships still remains -- people are still reading DC and Marvel and more.

And what mainstream comic titles adapted the manga style?
