Kushina the "Key"

Here's a theory i've had for a while.

Going back a few chapters we all learned about the scroll "key" thing Jiraiya pulled out during this fight with Pein. Now hopefully I read this right but supposedly the scroll contains the other half of the Kyuubi's chakra, good or evil it doesn't matter. Now, what I don't understand is how half of that chakra simply just was contained by a scroll of paper. I mean, we've already seen the destructive power of Naruto with his half of the Kyuubi chakra and to me it seems ridiculous that such a vast amount of raw power can be contained so easily. Even for somebody like Minato, this task should seem impossible. So here's where my theory comes in. I'm sorry but i don't know where or if Kushina was specifically stated to have died after giving birth to Naruto. (so this theory could be shot down rather quickly if somebody can prove it)

But anyways, I think that Kushina's body houses the other half of the Kyuubi chakra, and that for some reason, with her consent, was in turn sealed (by Minato) into that fancy toad scroll.

I like this theory b/c it offers a lot more for the manga then just an instant power boost after Naruto uses the key. Imagine, Naruto uses the key, and BAM Kushina pops out all crazy strong, and hopefully naked. :LOS Ready to teach Naruto some new jutsus from the only one his family that actually has any skill.

It's more likely that Naruto has both halves sealed into him but in two different ways. Jiraiya stated that Kyuubi's Yang was sealed into Naruto and the Kyuubi's Yin was sealed with Shiki Fuujin, which is visible on Naruto's stomach. It would also explain why Naruto still had the Kyuubi's chakra-enhanced healing after Orochimaru completely sealed the Shiki Fuujin.

Anyways, Naruto only seems to have conscious control over the release of Kyuubi's Yin chakra. However, since he doesn't have conscious control over the release of the Yang, he loses control after drawing too much of the Yin chakra; it doesn't balance. The Key most likely allows Naruto to control the releasing of the Yin and Yang seals.
 
Like Dragonus said, both halves surely are within Naruto. Remember, there was 2 different seals involved when sealing the Kyuubi into Naruto.

The Scroll itself is the key to connect the two halves.

And Kushina cannot have been sealed with the other half, for one the Yin would've died when Kushina died (same with the Minato).

That was more of a theory on my part. The closest thing we got is when Kakashi talked to Inari back in the Wave Arc that "Naruto never knew his parents." So its most likely that she died when he was very young. And with typical orphan stories that a child never knew his parents, they either died protecting the child, or the mother died in childbirth and the father died shortly after.

And given what we know now, my money is that Kushina died in childbirth than her protecting her newborn son. Then with his final breath, Naruto's care was entrusted to the Sandaime, Jiraiya, and Kakashi.
 
it is a good theory but i think that ins´t very correct:p
we don´t know if naruto´s mother is alive ou not...and i´m with you guys when u say that there are 2 seals withn naruto...

anyone have a pic of that seal of narutos'? the one on his stomach. im gonna show it to a friend of mines who's japanese american, i just wonder if it tells a story or something
 
a theory is something you can back up with facts...

first - kushina is inside naruto - poor fiction ;]

second - kushina is the key scroll - another fiction.

you think that if the key was kushina, naruto wouldnt know? and she was always carried around like a luggage of some sort? :)

kushina is no way related to kyuubi or narutos seal. at least there is NO evidence to that. would be nice if you could back up your theories not just with your imagination ;]
 
Wasn't this "key" stated to have been used in Naruto's training? It it were indeed Kushina, how would the frog in which Jiraiya summoned be in possession of it? Which is also to say that Naruto would consciously know who his mother is, though there hasn't been any mention of that.
 
The key releases the kyuubi chakra stored within the shiki fuujin seal into his regular chakra supply. I believe he has to counter act this chakra with his own in order to stay in control and not go into tailed mode, which he wasn't able to do when jiraya first released some of the seal.
 
Not entirely true.

Jiraiya and Tsunade talk about Kushina in past tense and in a favorable tone, which is a strong indicator that she is dead. And there is no other reason for her to be alive.
 
Off topic but whoa whoa, wth I missed this shit or what? Naruto's mom's name is Kushina? ahahha thats sick! Nice, if I have a daughter I'd name her Kushina lol
 
I could have sworn that i read that "the 4th sealed the yin charka into naruto with the death god seal, and the yang chakra went into the death god.
 
i doubt kushina is inside the scroll. more than likely she died giving birth to naruto. if she was alive somewhere she wouldnt leave her son all alone in the world. i think kakashi knows more about narutos past then he lets on. i mean yondi was his sensei. n kakashi was his best pupil, they probably spent alot of time together.
