Yeah some intelligence gathering could be good. Treating it like a Heist Plot.

The only thing a Training Arc is good for...is explaining the power system and doing some world building.
This series seems pretty international scope early on which is kinda weird for a Manga set in a Psuedo Real World to do early.

But a training arc is awkward cause we really don't know the Major Villains can even do combat wise.

Yeah. I think a training arc post-auction is probably way better. Chihiro is aware he needs to get better, but he needs to get ragdolled on screen a bit first. Become aware of how far the gulf is between himself and Soujou, and by extension, the Hishaku sorcerers who he's gunning for. THEN, its time for a training arc.

But if we're really gonna start lifting in prep now, I hope its done like JJK. Where we got a quick rundown on some basics, and then it was in the background, with something else taking the focus.
 
Author is hinting for training arc since chapter 1. It better be good. I thought each sword arc will have it's own arc but looks like that's nott the case . Sojo looks interesting as a villain.

I did not see that shit coming. At all. Hokazono made good use of getting the spotlight with a color page this week. Just pulled the rug out from under us.

Next week is gonna be hype as fuck.
 
So Shiba used to be part of the Kamunabi, he's definitely a beast. I'm guessing him, Azami, and Rokuhira were war buddies.

Lots of potential for worldbuilding introduced in this chapter between the Kamunabi, Sojo's bosses, and the first major arc being set up to be about a black market auction.
 
This is not real, btw. It's a 4chan post theorizing about the meaning of Enten that this guy turned into this "datapage".

But Enten is def the blade name. Since we saw Soujou activate Gouging Blade by calling out its name in a black speech bubble the same as Enten.

Ok seems this series is not afraid to kill off characters. What a dark turn the sorcerer's redemption arc took lol.

Sojo seems like a pretty cool villain. Does cloud gouger's freezing act like time freezing? The sorcerer didn't seem to realize he'd been frozen. And did Sojo just neg infinite tsukuyomi? He seems OP.

Anyways it looks like we'll finally be getting our first major fight with Chihiro vs Sojo. Very excited. Takeru has made it pretty clear that Sojo is out of Chihiro's league so I think he'll actually lose this one unless this series turns out to hand out asspulls.

Someone said this is based on KGB chapter 3's reception. So I guess it makes sense, if thats true. 6 is where things pick up, so hopefully, we'll see an upturn then.
 
The stakes have definitely gone up and the plot is thickening. Chihiro was savage in the latest chapter and that near decapitated spread was glorious.
 
That was great chapter. We finally saw good amount emotions coming out of Chihiro. Sojo using Char to create new enchanted blades?
