Just read the first chapter of Jojo part 9.
It’s interesting. I like the comparison of Stands to Systems of power and inequality in the real world. The idea that Stands are invisible sources of power in the same way that like capitalism and society are also invisible sources of power is great. And that idea that Nature stands above all these are is the greatest invisible power. Amazing that Araki is this far deep and can still make a great new idea like this.
this is the first non-American piece of media that I’ve ever seen recognize Covid. Like I’ve never even seen European or British films or tv shows recognize Covid.
So the new Jojo is a variation of Giorno and his sister is a trans woman, damn Araki, this is like directly written for the Gen Z for real for real. And it comes out right now during peak Transgender panic… Amazing
I wonder why Araki chose Hawaii tho? Is it because of volcanoes and how they represent Nature, the most greatest invisible power? Hmm I hope we get into actual Hawaii culture tho. Like I would hope Araki isn’t just writing it like it’s a bunch of foreigners in Hawaii and they don’t get into any Polynesian culture or anything.
