Talk about Itachi's collapse and Itachi's fate in general in this thread.

What happened to him? Is he dead? What's up with the coughing?
 
Using Amaterasu twice, Tsukiyomi, and Susano'o, three MS techniques, take a MASSIVE toll on your body, not just your eyes it would seem.

Itachi risked too much.

Yeah, Itachi tripped himself when he just about to take Sauce's eyes and accidentally poke his forehead instead and hit the wall. What a happy ending. My bet is that white snake move the rock over to Itachi's feet. :lmao
 
Itachi's death means the manga is now over

Can anyone even argue this. Ever since late part 1 the whole theme was for sasuke to kill itachi. Now with itachi dead, sasuke will gloroiusly return to konoha greeted with open arms. A 10 year timeskip follows and naruto is granted hokage, and sakura bears sasuke child reviving the uchiha clan.

I thought Itachi poking Sasuke's forehead was supposed to be symbolic of their youth...

I'm guessing the words he muttered were the same ones he always muttered when they both lived in Konoha.
 
Are you forgetting about Madara? And Sasuke reviving his clan?

We haven't seen the last of the Uchiha yet. Plot-wise Madara's connection the Hokage's, Konoha, and Naruto/Kyuubi are stronger than Sasuke's at this point...

Not to mention there's fodder like Pain/Kisame/Hebi/Sakura/Shikamaru that all need to have their stories wrapped up.

Intense chapter. Look at Itachi's face. And Sasuke's expression. Just priceless.

And no, Itachi isn't dead yet. Now is the perfect story-telling time. :cry

what else could an out of chakra, bleeding like hell, blind, tired, collapsed, out of jutsu guy do else? i dont see any reason why he should stick around in the plot anymore, unless it is to refer back to his words.

he's done, dead, over, kaput, etc.
 
I was expecting some kind of storyline advancement, a character's death, but all we get is Sasuke and Itachi back where they were before: Nobody dies. Zetsu or Kisame is most likely going to save Itachi, Sasuke still isn't powerful enough to kill him, and we're going to move back to Naruto and team vs Tobi. Wonderful...
 
My expectations were low, so I'm not disappointed; I'm just surprised at how bad Itachi looked for the majority of the fight.
 
Actually, after reading the actual chapter, I absolutely LOVE it. This chapter is just amazing. The intensity, the insanity, the frustration. It was so emotionally packed.

He dies (if he is dead) due to going all out in battle. Much better than dying by running away from a battle and jumping into a pond (in my humble opinion.)
