Look, Im a fan of Minato. And I honestly can't say that Minato was stronger than Itachi. If anyone who can say that is blind..Susanoo? you kidding me?...

To defeat him you have to be able to defeat Tskuyomi?, Amatersu and Susanoo?
I don't know..Unless you have sasuke's eyes most ppl will get destroyed by Tskuyomi..actually most shinobi including Deidara and oro got destroyed with just regular genjutsu forget about his other techniques..

I don't know...I just don't know how minato would fair against itachi...
 
Minato has to touch itachi to win.. simple. He tosses tons of tagged kunais, touches itachi, puts seal.. its over. The next attack would be an INSTANT rasengan to the face.
 
I'm a big good guys fan... but I'm gunna say I'm with you on that one faktor. Itachi is pretty beasty and his three finishing moves (tsukoyomi, amaterasu and susano'o) seem to have been designed pretty much with the idea that only someone with the sharingan can defend against them...!
 
No, that is foolish. It is exactly like saying "in order to defeat Deidara you have to beat C4". That is obvious rubbish, since Itachi defeated Deidara before Deidara had a chance to use any of those jutsu. Itachi is a great shinobi, but from the fail he is exuding in this Sasuke fight, Minato would blitz Itachi before he has a chance to pull any of his broken jutsu. Pre-"this Uchiha fight"-Itachi would be evenly or nearly evenly matched against Minato.

Minato was hokage.. he knows about the uchiha genjutsu.. Hed avoid the eyes with his speed. If he SOMEHOW got finger genjutsud.. hed just break it.. since its not as potent as sharingan genjutsu from the looks. Itachi has to use amaterasu and tsukiyomi to use susanno it seems. He would never land tsukiyomi. So no susanno.

Minato as we know doesn't have any skills that could Counter The Tsukoyomi. And if itachi would use Susanno , not even 10 Minatos would Strand a chance. Its the ULTIMATE defend and attack. Minatos Speed cant do shit.

Itachi almost died before he could pull off Susanoo. And from Sasuke at that! If Sasuke is even able to scratch Itachi, he stand ABSOLUTLY NO CHANCE against Minato.

Tskuyomi? Minato would be behind Itachi with a kunai to his throught before he could even activate MS.

Amatersu? Minato would be behind Itachi with a kunai to his throught before he could even activate MS.

Susanoo? Read above dumbass.

That must explain why he ran away with his tail between his legs like a dog when faced with Jiraiya. As far as we knew, 5 chapters ago, only a mangekyou sharingan can counter a mangekyou sharingan. That didn't stop Sasuke from breaking Itachi's Tsukiyomi. You don't know anything about Minato, since he was limited to 2 jutsu in the canon manga. If you think he became hokage with Hiraishin and Rasengan, you are gravely mistaken.

And, btw, Itachi can only use Susano-o after using both Tsukiyomi and Amaterasu. Minato would have curbstomped Itachi before that time.

If Kishimoto didn't nerf Itachi to make Sasuke look good, I would say that Itachi has the edge, but not now.
 
The man shows a rasengan, a teleportation attack and death god summoning.

It isn't fair when people use these alone to justify Minato's strength. Personally i blame kishi.

That is retarded based on the fact that if Uchiha's were so great why didn't Madara just attack the village? Why did he have to use the nine-tails, then fail, then run away? On top of that it established based on the manga that Madara is stronger than Itachi. Furthermore who beat Madara's ass and made him run away like a bitch, I believe it was the First. Is the first an UChiha, no! Isn't that interesting now?

I think Itachi could give anyone a good fight... i mean they have basically haxed him beyond recognition with this third Mangekyou attack of his. Either way though... as soon as Minato is able to set up Hiraishin... any ninja becomes fodder.... there is honestly no way that we have seen that you could stop such a technique... it is instant. So i guess it depends on how they fight when the time comes
 
lol yes Itachi has some godly jutsu's....but how good are they if he's dead before he uses them?

Minato is on another level, we will soon be talking about Itachi like he's Piccalo. Surpassed and irrelavant, and in his case...probably dead

This right here should have ended the thread. He hasn't been shown at full strength in the manga. We only know of three jutsu that Minato used, rasengan, hiraishin, and shiki fuujin. Shiki fuujin being his "last resort" jutsu should say a lot since the only entity that forced him to use it was kyuubi. Minato doesn't have a bloodline or isn't a jinchuuriki. That alone should say a lot about his strength. After all these years that Jiraiya had to get stronger and having Hermit Mode, and he still feels inferior to the 4th. That alone is a testiment to his strength.

really? because the 1st beat madara and the 4th>the 1st and Madara>itachi. hiraishin + rasengan to the face. the end. seriously minato is the most powerful being in the narutoverse.
 
We don't know ANYTHING about Minato other than the fact that he is as overrated as prime sandaime.

We know he's really fking fast and if he touches you and leaves his seal.. youre pretty much 100% fucked. Unless you can regenerate like oro or have extra bodies like pain.
 
Yondaime has been called the "Greatest shinobi" by Kakashi and is praised by Jiraya. Other than that he uses speed to his advantage, much like Sasuke and knows a summoning technique. If anything he is a greater or equal version of Sasuke. I'd say their base speeds are the same.

Hence Itachi > or = Minato.

Face it, Minato will be under genjutsu and he won't even know it. While Minato is in genjutsu, Itachi could just burn him to death with the God of Flames technique.

He specifically stated in the latest chapter that he got this jutsu on the very night his Sharingan evolved to MS.
 
I asked that question in telegrams. It seems some say he got it when awakened it, and some say after he used the other two. It's not 100% as of yet.. Even with susanoo.. can he hit minato? I think we should wait till the technique is done to better judge its versatility/speed. Itachi knew sasuke was going to use some attack.. so he defended. Can it instantly defend against incoming attacks though? who knows..

Itachi is pretty fast in using jutsus and he could use this pretty fast against Minato.
Unlike Amaterasu and Tsukiyomi, this jutsu protects him from outside harm.
Overall, he is a fast jutsu sealer.
