it is a known fact that Itachi haters like to say that he's afraid of anything... and even go as far as saying he's afraid of the weather...

and now I present to you the reason for this... why he is CAUTIOUS.. not AFRAID :LOS
 
Itachi isn't afraid of the weather per se, he just never underestimates the weather. Sasuke is a fool for trying a weather technique against a man who is always cognisant of the weather.

hes cautiousness of the weather was just meant to forecast a battle about to happen
it had nothing to do with the actual weather.

how would he know that would come into play. he didnt know sasuke knows jutsus that could utlize the weather.
