Sorry if this was already made before.

Is Wonder Woman's skin bulletproof(like superman's)? If so...why does she still need her braces?

Just curious.

Wonder Woman has a specific lack of superhumn durability against piercing attacks, hence the braces. She does just fine against blunt force trauma, and has magical defenses, which Superman lacks.

I was always curious about this. personally, I don't think this makes sense. She's taken punches from superman and other super strong opponents, and yet she can't withstand a bullet? Personally, if superman were real, I'd rather take my chances with a bullet than a punch from superman.

Well, superman punches are blunt force trauma IMO, as compared to a bullet, which is made more to pierce than to crush.

Can't help but reply. Anyway, is her skin bulletproof? Yes, it most certainly is.

Then why does she still need her braces? To deflect deathray', Darkseid' Omega Beam, Superman' Heat Vision and planet destroying projectiles.

Her skin may very well be bulletproof now, but she still falls back into the habit of deflecting them, which makes it hard to see.

A fist traveling at c is far more 'piercing' than a bullet traveling at a few thousand feet per second.

To answer the original poster's question; no, she's not bullet proof, but she's quite bullet resistant. Her skin can be pierced, but her muscles are so taut that the bullet won't penetrate deep enough to cause her any real damage.

Of course, it's worth noting that some writers have extended her piercing 'vulnerability' to great lengths - making bullets seem to affect her about as much as they do every day humans. So, all in all, it depends on the writer's opinion.

However, the 'average' says that her skin can be pierced, but no real damage will be dealt to her.

DC needs to get off the pot.

Seriously though, it's instinct to her. Back in the Perez days, she wasn't bullet proof yet, so she had to do a lot of bullet deflecting. It became an instinctive action.

Well there you go.

Zoom has wacked Diana with fist' travelling at the speed of light many times, and the most it did was make her spit blood.

Diana = so damn bulletproof

Though DC still haven't gotten the memo....

It's one of those weaknesses that doesn't really make sense. The confusion is further compounded by the fact that sometimes she is shown to be bulletproof.
