The way Zetsu called Itachi invincible in this fight begs the question just what did he lack to make him believe he hadn't surpassed Madara already? At first I thought it was because Madara was the only one in history to summon the Kyuubi, but then again, all Mangekyou Sharingan users have that ability seeing as it's one of the doujutsu's hidden secrets. But then we get to the final secret: making the Mangekyou Sharingan "permenent." Now, Itachi never said this feat hasn't been done before. To the contrary, the Uchiha were doing it for decades. However, he did state that using that formula (killing best friends for MS and swapping eyes with siblings to make it permenent) for those Uchiha ended in failure because their power did not equate to Madara's...

But I'll refer back to my first sentence. Itachi was regarded as invincible. The only thing he lacked was his eyes gaining a new light. Yet, how would that increase his stamina? It's true that his power would increase, but how would preventing blindness still not keep him from burning out after all we've seen of him throughout this fight? Unless Madara's eyes granted him immortality, then I can only conclude that Madara has more stamina along with more power even for being 'a shell of his former self.' The question is, just how much more...?

You got a point there, but I recommand using paragraphs though. It's true that EMS doesn't equal skill, stamina/chakra, at least to our knowledge. He may still get tired from using the EMS too much because it causes you to burn chakra.

So far, we don't know how much power Madara has. According to Itachi, he is a shell of his former self. We still do not know a lot about EMS or Madara power/immortality concept.

We just have to wait until we get more information.

Madara and his younger brother were definitely the strongest Uchiha within the clan before they took control of it. And when the Mangekyou Sharingan possessed him to take his brother's eyes, it was from there that Madara catapolted(sp?) to the strongest shinobi in the world before he was defeated by the First Hokage. While being a shell of his former self, he, along with Itachi's help who may or may not have been as strong as Madara's younger brother at the time, was still able to whipe out the clan he gained control over so easily in the past...

I agree that we have to wait, though. Itachi saying Madara was still alive and well along with his eyes (Link removed) later on to call him a shell of his former self (Link removed) is kinda confusing. It begs the question rather Madara is still as powerful as he once was, or has his powers declined over the century? At any rate, we'll just have to see I guess...
 
the word 'invicible' is nothing but for making sound hyped.
remember that itachi called madara an "invicible" and then right after that he said that he wasb defeated / stopped twice.so if madara was invincible,why did he loose?same for itachi.
i am pretty sure that inspite of being only a shell of his former self,madara is still muvh stronger.
 
madara was the strongest uchiha , not the strongest ninja
and even itachi said that right now madara is not as strong as before
and even before he was defeated by the First hokage
so he musn't be that strong i guess
 
Yes. I think he is considerable stronger than Itachi. Madara has a eternal MS so he doesn't suffer of side effects during the battle and he gained a "new and even stronger doujutsu" according to Itachi.

So not only Madara is able to use MS jutsus without fucking his eyes or dying but he can use even stronger doujutsus. Besides he has a fucking broken intangible jutsu.

And I believe Madara is better than Itachi too as overall ninja having tons of years of experience.
 
the problem is, madara got a totally new technique with the ems, perhaps the technique that allows him to not be touched, so that is why he will be a hell of a problem
