is it safe to say that Susanoo is....

9TalesOfDestruction

I hate filler
a forbidden technique that costs the user his life????? A life draining technique similiar to the Death God technique??

so why the hell did itachi just use it???? wow, did he really have an alterior motive???

"Even if i only exist as a obstacle for YOU to overcome??"

he did all this for sasuke or something??? wow...wtf man....

usually they use the life draining technique to kill off the final villian or whatever.....but he used it knowing he wouldn't be able to get his "goal".....

is this itachi's redemption time??

edit

c'mon

"I'll take them slowly???" knowing i have seconds to survive???

At first i thought so too, then came the chapter when Itachi said he wanted Sasuke's eyes to surpass Madara, but it's still not impossible

Anyway, Itachi still might be alive :zaru

hmmm, i see your point but me and creator think that that one white snake left bit him ( the white snake being all thats left of orachimaru) and that cuased him to have a heart attack
r.i.p itachi

Well one white snake would be enough to paralyze him i guess.....

i doubt it though.....cause it represents rebirth.....which could also be the redemption of itachi....

I think it's more that it's a jutsu that takes an incredible amount of chakra that Itachi just didn't have after performing techniques like amaterasu and tsukiyomi. Maybe if he hadn't had to use it on Oro he would have had enough chakra, or maybe not. We'll never know. All we know is that it was the only chance he had left to win, and he gave out right before the finish line.

Susanoo at least doesn't kill you immediately and can be used at least twice.. Besides, what could Kishi do? You have a combination of the perfect defense and perfect offense. Basically, if he wanted Itachi to die then Itachi was just going to have to die by his own hands.

Didn't he mention a couple of chapters back that he'd used it once before? It's probably not a self sacrifing technique, just one that drains lots of chakra.

That and also I remember back to when Kakashi taught Sasuke the chidori. Kakashi said that trying to force a jutsu without the proper amount of chakra could kill the user.

I am thinking based on that Itachi didn't have enough chakra and he hurt himself because he tryed to force it.

maybe it's my scans

but i don't remember him ever saying he used it before....but that it was the 3rd technique awakened on that fateful day......

I'm sure I remember it being said, but maybe it was one of the fake spoikers Im thinking about. :/

But still, the fact that he even knew that Susanoo had awakened along with the other two MS techniques indicates he'd used it before.

No. From the way things played out it didn't seem to be a usual occurrence. He was still dead set on getting Sasukes eyes, and even went as far as to say he'd take his time and enjoy it. Once he gets hit by the death note effect, he starts speeding it up a bit. I dont think he'd take his time if he knew it was draining his life force to that degree, and Itachi doesn't seem like one who would rely on an untested technique that he knew nothing about.
