Iam So Tired of alot of u guys Keep having Mandra and Pain so high like there damn gods...Number 1 Mandra lost 2 the 1st Hokage and 4th hokage, Next Pain would have lost Jiraya..He even said it...The reason jiraya lost cause he didt want 2 kill his student he was still trying 2 come 2 a final answer. Its like the 3rd and oro he waited so long 2 try and kill oro cause that was a student he trained personaly. So with jiraya he saw 2 of his students faces and 1 of his students eyes so he was just trying 2 realize what he need 2 do and who was the destinted child. So pain is not as powerful as alot of u keep saying.

There is no reason to post such a thing, nor reason to trash this thread. ByakuganKing makes somewhat of a point. There are some characters that are being hyped for no apparent reason, or at least none based on currently displayed skill (mainly in reference to Uchiha Madara).

Though there are some misconceptions in this thread. Minato did not actualy "defeat" Uchiha Madara, it was more of an indirect attack when he sealed the Kyūbi via the Shiki Fūjin. As for Jiraiya, it was not because Pein was once his student, rather because he did not know Pein's true identity. That was the statement made in their match.

So while I do agree on some level, some of your reasoning is a bit flawed.

Merely a spelling error, he means Madara.
 
I think pein is exceptionally powerful.
Even Jiraiya said he couldnt believe one guy could beat Hanzo alone.
On top of that he heads akatski, can use all 6 elements, has many bodies etc.
So yes, he is very strong and arguably one of the strongest ninjas around.
If not, then please name me 5 current living (Note the word living) ninjas that can beat him....
 
Madara was not defeated by the Fourth Hokage. Yondaime sealed the Kyuubi when it attacked Konoha, and though Madara sent the beast to battle, he did not directly fight the Fourth. Jiraiya didn't kill Pein because he couldn't. When Pein said that he would have lost if he didn't reveal his secret, he meant that it was necessary to use all six bodies against Jiraiya.

Madara did not lose twice. He lost to Shodai but the circumstances of the battle are unknown. We only know that he lost. I would also like to mention that it appears that he did not encounter Minato at the Kyuubi attack and therefore that was not a loss. His intention did not appear to be to battle Minato but to case havoc on Konoha.

Though Pain said that it is also wise to mention that Jiraiya was unsure of the identity of Pain.
 
Obviously, the two biggest villains in the series are pathetic fodder chumps. I don't know why people would ever think they're strong...
 
If anything, Pein doesn't get enough focus in Naruto even though his the ex-destined child. Jiraiya lost fair and square, he came in unprepared and lost not because he lacked power but because Pein was just more tactical and used his chances wisely. He wasn't holding back, he tried to kill him quickly at the start of the hair bind jutsu, but Pein logg'ed it. And if the theory of 6 Peins + original Nagato is true, then Pein is mr win. Even against a Sannin like Jiraiya, Nagato did not show all of the Rin'negans jutsus, that's for sure.
Madara is mr 100+ yrs experience hoe, he just won't die :facepalm His like Naruto in a way because he never gives up and keeps coming back. I don't see Madara as a god but Itachi admitted his Madara's bitch so.... go madara!
 
who cares if pein kept a secret, thats what ninja's do, jiraiya couldn't see through pein's deception, so he died.

and madara only lost to shodai and no one else, thats pretty good, compared to everyone else in the manga.

actually Jiraiya lost because pain didn't start of with all his bodies in play. He hid 2-3 of them until after the singing genjutsu.

Pein managed to defeat one of the strongest protagonists in the manga. Not to mention he killed Hanzou and has never lost a battle. Madara is the God of Uchiha. No doubt they are both gods of battle in their own right, so being on par with Minato, Shodai and being above Jiraiya is nothing to downplay...
 
Pein is a god. or have you not read the manga. dont you dare deny something so blatantly obvious.

Pein was just saying that to show some compassion. plus jiraiya's frog song was haxxed.
 
theres a reason they call pain god, and its not cause he can cook good burgers, its because he can kick anyhbodies ass thusfar.he was above chuunin level when he was like ten with only one body and very little training compared to other ninja.he doesnt get overcomfident in battle, he knows when he has to whip out his trump card before its to late. when you can beat both a person badass enough to deny the title of hokage, and the guy who gave the most perutable team ever their name for simply living, the man deveres the title of badassery.

madara lost to one of the strongest kages, under unknown circumstances, has ems, and created the most powerful clan in the leaf village, and helped build the leaf village itself. he can control the kyuubi, which is the strongest of the bijuu and gives both jiraiya and oro a run for his money at only a four tail state. that puts madara at twice as strong as the sannin.

i think they deserve to be the stroinger villains

It is debatable as to whether Madara was defeated twice. He summoned Kyuubi for a purpose. Being that Minato sealed the Kyuubi thus preventing Madara from achieving his purpose, it can be argued that he was defeated. It's just semantics after that.

What Pain said was that he probably would not have won if he had revealed his secret. We still don't know what that secret is.
 
Pein unknown Identity is what makes him powerful, if he wasnt powerful then he would have lost against Jiraiya.

i agree somewhat yet i differ a little bit
I totally understand Madara being hyped up like crazy...we havent even seen what he can do...only that his plans got foiled twice
Pein on the other hand is considered the one to bring chaos to the Narutoverse
and also thats not the reason Jiraya died
it was simply because pein had too many advantages with his 6th bodies

That fact, about how he would have lost if J-man knew his secret, applys to everysingle person in the naruto verse.

If Asuma knew Hidan's secret, he wouldn't have died.
If Kakashi knew Kakuzu's secret, He'd take out multiple hearts in the beginning
If Sasuke knew Lee's secret, he wouldn't have been pwned in two seconds
If Sakura and Chiyo knew Sasori's secret, the battle would have gone quicker.
etc...

If you walk into a fight, and know you'r opponents weakness, then you just may win. Pein was just saying, that if Jiriaya knew his weakness from before hand, Jiraiya could exploit it and win.
 
also do we know why madara summoned kyuubi. cause, in my opinion, i thnk kyuubi was nothing bu a distraction. got a better distraction than unlesahing the most powerful bijuu a few miles away from konoha? if he was going for destroying konoha, dont you think he would have summoned it in the middle of the village. i think he distracted it to find a person resembling himself(itachi) and begin a long manipulation from there, resulting in a sibling getting to be as strong as himself, to help rull the world. have a kind of aizen thing goin on.

good post, have to agree. There is a reason Pein is known as a god.
