Harry Potter: Three more movies instead of two.

Apparently there is going to be three more harry potter movies instead of two. The last book will be made into two movies :zaru

Im just pissed David Yates is directing the last two, OotP was probably one of the worst one from the series, they completely butchered the book.

/sigh

I hate it when they cut one good thing in half :pek I would rather have an 8 hour movie than have 2 4 hour movies that are spaced out...

NOOOO!!!!! :shakefist

Most of the book was spent watching three/two teenagers sit in a tent and bicker, then disapparate to somewhere new, set up the tent and spells, and resume bickering. Well over half was wasted following that pattern. How do they expect to hold the audiences' attention with such redundancy?

I just hope they leave Dumbledore's sexuality out of it and expound upon the epilogue.

This was confirmed a while back now, the movies are pretty good so I'm glad about the extension.

fail harry potter movies are fail.

Considering how they are just abridged versions of the books:zaru

Seriously, if your going to adapt it, try doing something a bit different. Or nail it perfectly (which is usually next to impossible).

Known about this for a while yet I can't find the original thread on it, oh well.

Its better this way. So much stuff in the last book, it would have to be a 4 hour movie. So its logical them making two films on it. I hate the idea though of them releasing part 1 and part 2 6 months apart. People didn't read half the book and put it down then come back and read more after a few months, people bloody marathon'd it. I think they need to bring back the old double feature, you have 2 hours of movie, get a 20 minute bathroom break / lets all go to the lobbbyyyy, and then come back for the second half.

They're probably doing this because book 7 was truly a disappointment. I'm guessing that in the last HP movie, they're going to make Harry & Voldemort have a epic duel, where we see Harry pulling off powerful spells like Dumbledore did in the 5th movie. Like, first we see Harry & Voldermort duel w/ their Phoniex wands, then Harry disarms Voldemort's wand w/ his wand, then Voldemort disarms Harry's wand w/ unspoken spell, then Voldemort takes out the Elder Wand, use it on Harry only to get bounce back to him & die.

And they would add more stuff into it.

They should have made 2 movies for GOF and OOTP, they were just as equally long as DH. OOTP being the longest book yet the shortest movie was just rediculous, what was the director trying to prove. That he can cram the longest book into the shortest movie and yet satisfy fans?

Did he ever think about that some fans actually like long movies definetly one's that's based on books that they really like. Im pretty sure im not the only one who wouldnt have minded 45 minutes or an extra hour added on to GOF and OOTP to give more time for the characters to develope instead of watching a rushed movie.

I really did want to see Quidditch in both GOF and in the OOTP movie.:notrust

I'm guessing this is just a marketing thing. Just make a longer movie. What's wrong with 4 hour movies? Just have an intermission.

People don't have the patience for it. Plus, how do you know that David Yates would be able to handle a 4 hour movie?

Gosh I have no idea anymore, such a long time ago. xD

I totally agree with you. I was really dissapointed when I
saw OotP.. =\ They left so much stuff out, it was ridiculous!

As long as they don't include the epilogue( which i just hated) I won't mind..but it better be good. Why couldn't they get another director though:(

I was rooting for Guillermo Del Toro, or even for a return of Alfonso Cuaron.

Agreed. And so much has been taken out of the books from 3-5 it doesn't bother me anymore. I just see them to see them.

And hopefully they give us a better ending than the book damn it even if its just a little. I was so pissed with that.
