Megathread Elon Musk Acquires [s]Twitter[/s] "X"

Tell that to Elon. He just blocked Catturd for criticizing him — the irony.

Also, as another user shared above, removing the block feature might jeopardize the app in the App(le) Store and Google Play.
If Elon is serious about removing blocking feature, this act just means he's trolling (as his own blocks will end up removed anyway)

I think mute would satisfy the requirements of the app stores... blocking is a bit weird though, it means the person you blocked can't see your tweets... until they log off, then they can see your tweets again
Sure, anyone can see tweets without being logged in, but they can't reply, let alone send DMs. I think blocking is better than muting overall. Again, an abusive user may not see your tweets when they're logged in. Also, if you block someone, you cannot see their tweets at all unless you click "Show." With muting, you might see someone's message in a retweet or on a Trends page.

The real irony and pettiness is the people that watch and check who blocks who. What kind of loser has the time to do that, and what kind of loser thinks that’s good information to source.

Naw, Elon blocked Catturd because Musk is thin-skinned.

While Musk has pondered some of the awful changes he's making to the platform for a while, many of the choices he's made have been impulsive. For one thing, his decisions to purchase Twitter and then back out were impulsive. So were his decisions to fire many staffers who knew how the platform worked and insult an Icelandic developer who was owed millions. Many of Musk's actions will have legal consequences, and that includes possible litigation over the platform's new branding. BTW, the decision to change Twitter to X and get rid of the bird was one of the stupidest things he's done to date. That should be part of a lesson plan for marketing/advertising students in the future.

My main issue with Elon (atm) is that he still has the ADL (and alike) working as censorship enforcers for Twitter/X.
But overall, Twitter/X is still significantly better than the previous regime before Elon.

I oddly agree about the censorship issues but disagree with the rest. I think Jack was the best CEO, even though he has/had his faults, too.

full stop
it's a retarded move

but as a safety feature it doesn't necessarily deter stalkers, that's the biggest issue when using it as a safety feature. if you get a stalker with some modicum of intelligence, they'll remain hidden under some quiet dupe or continue to view the page logged out with no way of actually identifying the dupe

instead of removing features that he personally finds useless, improve them
but nahhhhh, give your attention to this shit, elon

what can jack even say after the deal? this isn't a solid indicator of his actual sentiment imo

"i agree elon is an egotistical moron with room temperature IQ, but i have to create the false impression he's okay to not set off mass panic. after i finish my cocaine binge and get more bitches i will regret this decision deeply despite rolling in money"

ironically you can blatantly tell elon is sweating and trying to rack up revenue from ads as much as possible via paywalled services
blue checks aren't enough

welcome to the clown show

He could have just not responded?

Well, he agreed with Musk on removing the block thing, so maybe he's just trolling and trying to further set fire to Twitter before this Blue Sky (sp?) thing is released.

Didn't Facebook do the same? I had them block my work account because I didn't fill it in and just put random profile pic, so they demanded an ID, like the real one screened.

Facebook will if you look like a dupe.
I mean all the big platforms seem to do this, forcing people who need them for work or charity volunteering to share personal details that actually have some meaning, not some identifiable crap.
And it's not like your details are only processed by some AI, there was no AI like that back then and it is not used there now.

The conclusion: they all suck. :blobderp

Sweden's largest tabloid, Aftonbladet, announces that they are X-iting Twitter. According to the statement, "given the current direction of the platform, we see no need to maintain a presence there."

I was only ever on Twitter X for the porn accounts anyway. Which I won't be paying for. At least now I won't feel like I'm missing out on anything from X being blocked in China, since nobody will be on there anyway. Good bye.

:catmic
