Are What If's reliable sources? Why or Why not?
They have been designated thier own universe in the multiverse....just like the Ultimate Verse or AOA considered canon why cant What ifs?

Some issues have things that are not possible in the 616 MU

Wolverine kills the Hulk
Punisher kills the Marvel Universe

^^^but they did happen. they have been designated thier own universes...its not one of those...it was just a dream issues

Some of the things that happen in What ifs are retarded beyond belief and could never ever happen in the universe that they're supposed to be based in or on.

So the answer is no.

What if?s are non canon for the Marvel 616 universe.

It could be argued that they have a canon within their designated universe. If the opening post specified a specific incarnation as a What if? incarnation I'd have no problem with it.

But the general assumption should be the 616 incarnation if it's not specified.

"What If?"s are canon to their own universe. However, in fights, we generally only consider Marvel 616 unless otherwise specified.

So if you specify "Spiderman from universe 62016," then you can (and would be required to) consider feats from that specific "What If?"

Otherwise, 616 only.

Correct. Furthermore, were you to specify the Spiderman from universe 62016, you could not bring 616 feats into the debate.

That's true, but warrants clarification:

The What If? comics diverge from the 616 universe at various points, so feats before this divergence from 616 would be okay to mention. Just not feats afterwards.

Like in "What if? Spider-man vs. Wolverine" you could show feats from classic Spidey before the fight mentioned as 616 and WI?SvW are the same universe at that point. You just couldn't bring up later arcs like "The Other" as they didn't necessarily happen.

Not necessarily true. Many What Ifs are specified as identical to the 616 timeline till a certain point, at which they diverge.

Meaning you'd be able to use any 616 feat prior that divergence, but none that occured afterwards.

What Ifs? are not canon except to themselves. So unless you specify that you're using the version of a character from a What If? then they are not acceptable.
