how ez it was for hatchan to get into the new world and how much faster he got there than the SH?

well his hometown is on The Grad Line... on The new World...
It's possible he's used to the grand line... hell he's a Fishmen...

well, just because Zoro beat him does necessarily mean he's weak.

That and the Strawhats spend a large amount of time getting places and helping random people while the fishmen probably have ways to get straight to where they need to go using sea kings or whatnot.

well ya he is a lot stronger under water and there arent really too many enemy pirates underwater so it prolly was a str8 and ez path

He almost certainly had some means of heading directly to his destination, whether with an Eternal Pose or some Fishman thing.

But even so, it's not difficult to overtake the Straw Hats, because they have a serious tendency to stop places and spend a few weeks overthrowing a corrupt regime. Someone who simply spent the bare minimum amount of time at each island could easily get past them, as long as they were capable of getting past the general obstacles of the Grand Line.

Actually, most of the arcs don't take very long at all... Alabastra was the only one that was way out of the way.

Skypeia was no more than a few days.

Water 7 was like... two days? And then another for Enies Lobby, maybe?

Thriller Bark wasn't even one full day.

You have to assume that there's lots of screwing around not depicted in the manga, the SH's detours are pretty minor.

I don't think it was stated Fishman Island was in the New World (unless it's situated past the Red Line underwater, which is possible.)

Though it could simply be that there's a safer route that Fishman are able to use underwater to reach Fishman Island.

The only other threat underwater would be the seakings, since the weather conditions and other strong pirates wouldn't be much of factor at all.

You're forgetting about the time that the Straw Hats always inevitably spend recuperating. There's typically a period at the end of an arc during which time is skipped ahead and everyone's injuries heal and the ship is repaired and so on. It's true that there was only a day's length between the Straw Hats landing on Thriller Bark and them defeating Moria, but it was then around another four days before they left again. And that was a short arc.

Well the Strawhats constantly spent days and days on different islands while Hatchan most likely went straight through to Gyojin island without stopping as much as them.

i agree but u r forgetting that we dont know how long it takes on sea to go from one island to another and they spent time resting too

Wasn't Hacchi's story in the covers after Arlong was defeated ??

I don't remember the story too well, there might be hints as to how he got there ahead of the Strawhats.

Like Arcanis pointed out, Eternal pose might be the answer :zaru

Actually when i think about it, in the cover-story Hacchi had he had already meet that mermaid chick and the fish gang, so doesn't that mean he was already nearby the mermaid island?
If so he swims quite fast.

How is him being a merman stopping the creatures in the calm belt from eating him?
