A Series of Unfortunate Events (Analysis of the Fight)

Firstly, this fight was hugely anticipated as we all know, the problem arose when kishi started with the genjutsu stare for 2/3 chapters. As the fans just left a high intensity battle btw J-man and pein (Not necessarily the best of fights, but intense and i still believe what made it crap was the dialogue btw pein and j-man and j-man's death. When it is animated, I think some ppl will appreciate the fight more.)

Anyways, The genjustu bit did not help and I could see what kishi was trying to do but everyone that reads naruto knows they are both excellent at genjutusu, not have 3 chapters on it b4 we get zetsu telling the readers they are a match.

The second silly thing kishi did was when sasuke was caught in tsukuyomi he shld have not used willpower as a means to break free. I mean, how hard is it for him to just give sasuke a jutsu that can act as a shield for high lvl technique, I mean he has the sharingan he coudl have made anything up as long as it was sharingan based ppl will accept it (this will nullify anyone else being capable to break free, except for sharingan users). Example's are when susano blocked kirin, when oro use triple rashumon against KN4 (powerful technque blocking another).

Lets be honest, did anyone rly expect kunai to play a roll in this battle. Maybe its my perception of the sharingan, but when i started reading naruto; I was always under the impression that sharingan could copy alot of jutsu's. Thats the foundation of the sharingan (Copy wheel, No?) and to have arguably, the two most potent users limit to three to four jutsu's in a battle is dissappoitning. I was expecting out of this world jutsu's to slowly build up and hit a crescendo. To be fair susano fits the bill, I would expect a jutusu of that lvl to be the granding closing. Kirin, did its part too.

All am saying is the battle was badly damaged by kishi at the start, that when the fight finally got some angst, it did not feel fluid. Then to top it off Itachi collapses, but at least he said soemthing to sasuke b4 he died which leaves room for speculation that he may actually be a good guy in some twisted way. I wish the whole battle was like the last three chapter's not have sasuke dominate 70% of the battle and last 30% itachi recovers with his last technique and both of them run into chakra issue's. Am not sure if I've seen any battle were both participants run out of steam. I am starting to think kishi writes based on opinion poll's(Taboo, Uh oh).

Actually, it was refreshing to see some kunai for a change, as opposed to the magicks that are jutsus.

The genjutsu bit was fine in my opinion, with the sole exception of breaking out of Tsukuyomi with willpower. On that last bit, I agree with you.

Susano'o being Itachi's final trump in response to Sasuke's final trump was pretty much guaranteed. We've known about the possibilities of Susano'o being another MS jutsu since we learned that the first two were called Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi. So Susano'o wasn't really a surprise.

The only part of this battle that did not feel fluid was the fact that most of Itachi's arsenal proved ineffective.

I actually quite liked the fight, both participants were pushed to their limit and beyond. I already had an idea Itachi would fall as he did and that proved disappointing really...I would have liked him to keel over after taking an eye.

I am inclined to agree with u a bit, but It's not that itachi's technqiue shld be effective or ineffective but countered in a concinving manner. I was thinking on the lines that oro would have taught sasuke alot of forbidden jutsu's or kinjutsu i think it's called. Some dark Sh*t like the summoning of the undead to counter itachi's moves. Am not saying it must be summoning the dead but some dark stuff.

The second half of the fight was good...I have to agree that the first part was somewhat boring, everyone was expecting it and that part were Itachi takes Sasuke's eye was predicted by all that it was a genjutsu.....fans already know Kishi's style, I wonder what was he thinking we he wrote that part? he wasn't fooling anyone, there was no surprise in it, he didn't mislead anyone, so what was the point of it? This kind of tricks worked earlier in the manga, but not anymore imo.

Itachi had one hell of a jutsu (Susanno) there are a lot of things left to be answered, like why was Itachi willing to take Sasuke's eyes now and not earlier? He didn't have the MS now either, so what was the point of waiting? I believe Itachi had another thing in mind...

We will have to wait till next chapter to see what really happened and why Itachi fell...I believe that Sasuke didn't have anything to do with it, if that is the case, then both Uchiha brothers were losers in this fight as neither got what they lusted for.

He did use the Sharingan:

He used his Willpower in conjunction with the Sharingan's ability to reverse Genjutsu. Presumably, Sasuke's state illustrates that how easy it is for the Shjaringan to do thta depends on the level of the Illusion (Tsuyukomi- S-Class easy) and the skill of the user (Sasuke, S-Class, at least as far as breaking out of Genjutsu go).

And this fight was'nt that bad. T least it's not their last (that's right- Itachi will live).

Totally agree, I think kishi has become a victim of his own success lol. We know how he thinks, psychoanalyze every single deatail of the manga ,I mean we analyse everything so much that b4 the nxt chapter is released one or more NF member has made an accurate prediciton. I think he might be making an effort not to be predictable. Which I think sometimes leads him to PNJ. he shld just write the way he feels, screw the opinion of fans (Ignore the popularity contest).
