A man with few pleasures in his life, Seto Kaiba. Kaiba is, in reality, only a teen, but he carries the weight of a billion-dollar company and a constantly-kidnapped little brother on his shoulders. Still, Kaiba is undoubtedly good at what he does. There is a lot to Kaiba, but the main attraction here is that "I don't give a damn what you think, I'm getting what I want NOW" attitude of his.

Kaiba first came on the scene of Yu-Gi-Oh! as a rich villain (with waaaaaaay too much time of his hands) who wanted a rare trading card. Even after being defeated by the main character Yugi Motoh, Kaiba stayed in the picture as a major antagonist for Joey Wheeler (Yugi's sidekick. One of many.) From there, Kaiba began exhibiting classic signs of Vegeta Syndrome."

Vegeta Syndrome
The Syndrome isn't very unusual in anime. It's characterized as being in villains who get beaten by the main characters. From there the various symptoms begin: dogging the character that defeated you, constantly picking fights with said character, training nonstop, picking fights with main character's friends, intense inner monologues using your rival's name more than five times in three sentences, and joining the main character's group even though you'll only be standing on the edge of it-and there purely out of enjoyment at watching your rival lose.

Kaiba does eventually acknowledge that he has a problem and seeks out other rivals. That is the first step to rehabilitation.

~Mokuba Kaiba~

Besides having to babysit the company he inherited from his adopted father (Gozoburo Kaiba) after his "apparent suicide", Kaiba has to watch over his little brother, Mokuba. The kid needs a lo-jack on him, big time, because he is constantly being kidnapped to exploit Kaiba. Seriously, at least one every season. Still, Mokuba is a good pack mule, constantly carrying around his big brother's Briefcase 'O' Death, filled with cards or gadgets usually. Mokuba DID have one cool scene in Battle City when he catches a group of people cheating. He, acting as Duel Commissioner, pulls epic COPS moves to catch the punks.

Kaiba and Mokuba are both very intelligent, but Kaiba outshines his brother by miles. Kaiba is the inventor of duel disks (a portable card game system), a genius with computers (capable of hacking into Pegasus's company mainframe in a matter of minutes), and a fair strategist in a duel (came up with the classic "Don't attack or I'll jump off the ledge and boy you'll feel bad about that eventually" Strategy.) When I first saw him, I was fairly convinced he was a Sociopath. Then I realized that he knows the difference between right and wrong perfectly well. He just doesn't give a rat's hiney.

He was also a high priest in the past in Ancient Egypt (the show switches gears and we go back in time for a while.) And, strangely enough, his rival Yugi's ancient spirit Yami's cousin-the pharaoh. The rival began there, though Seto was ever faithful to his cousin. There is a huge storyline to focus on but shirtless Kaiba was really all I got out of the ancient arc-well that, and my sweet Tomb Thief Bakura. Long story. Another BR for another day!
