Thank you less.
Prior to watching Naruto I actually watched a few animes on Adult Swim. When I saw the commercials, I thought I would give the anime a shot
I don't have kids, but I have watched Naruto with my 9 year old nephew.
I really don't have that as an interest with my friends that I interact with outside of the internet. It's just not their thing. This is more something that me and my sister (and her son) share.
More recent. I have my youngest sister (she's 27) to thank for getting into the anime/manga deal. She was into such anime as Inuyasha and Cowboy Bebop that she would watch on Adult Swim (she used to work nights for awhile). She later on asked if I could find some episodes for her (I bought a DVD and a shirt for her online) and I ended up watching the show myself. That gained my interest. Reading manga came a bit later more out of curiousity. I actually started out reading Fruits Basket manga first before getting into others such as Naruto.
To be honest, I wasn't a big cartoon watcher as a kid. I'd watch the regular stuff, but it would get on my nerves. When I got into anime, it made me realize that there are good stories to come out of the animation format to discover that I wish I had around when I was growing up.
EDIT: There was something else that I forgot to add. When I was younger I did spend some time reading Wonder Woman comics.
