Months ago, the whole Negima fandom was given a shock of their lives when pictures of girls dressed in Mahora uniforms were found on the net. SPECULATIONS came in about a live-action adaptation. Eventually, the SPECULATIONS became a REALITY. And now that REALITY is a NIGHTMARE. :oh

Actually, I told myself that I won't watch even one episode when it starts. But when I saw screens of it on some sites, I wasn't able to resist and I watched the pilot episode... out of Rugged's curiosity.

Well, the title says it. The live-action adaptation is just crap beyond words. I can't even describe how bad it is. I don't mind if the writers go for the original story for the live-action, because I don't want them to taint the great thing that is the manga. The acting is crap... all of them. And it doesn't help that the live-action Negi is played by a girl. To sum it up, it's just a frickin' mess. :mad

Seriously, I can't believe that Akamatsu-sensei is actually letting this happen. I even read stuff that he actually had a talk with these girls on the set and said that he was pleased on how it turned out. Honestly, I don't think he understands what made his work into a franchise. There were even comments from fans that the reason for the creation of the live-action adaptation is because he wanted to see more cosplayers in school uniforms. Haven't he had enough from his cosplayer wife? :notrust

There's been too much damage done to this series already. The first season, I used to hate, but now I think that it is above the senseless second season and this crap of a live-action adaptation. Fans are still asking for a decent anime adaptation of the manga, but IMO, I don't want it anymore. Just the manga is enough for me.

People may say that I'm already judging this series even though it's just one episode out, but honestly, I've been a fan of Negima for more than a year now, and believe me when I say that it's not even worth it.

End of rant/review.
