Your home is being condemned? Holy shit! That's probably the best excuse I've ever heard for not being online. I sort of wish I could get away with using it, too...

Supervisor: "So, Recalcitrant Funkasaur... how far have you managed to get with the research tasks I set you three weeks ago. Anything interesting to show me?"

Me: *quite cheerful* Nope!

Supervisor: "... You do realise that this is a serious matter, Recalcitrant Funkasaur. Your progression onto the PhD programme depends on successful completion of the tasks I set you--"

Me: "My home was condemned."

*dead silence*

Supervisor: *backtracks like his life depends on it* "Err... well of course. I- I do apologise. I was not aware of that. Obviously, we are here to help, we have excellent student support networks, and should you ever need..."

Me: "Yes, that's right, bitch. Cower before the mightiest of excuses. Fawn, plead and beg for forgiveness! Bwah hah hah hah haaa!"

Sorry. Got a bit carried away there and unleashed my inner megalomaniac. Honestly, that sucks muchly. Hope you're okay and that you've got a proper roof over your head until you find somewhere new to live.
