Another View On Family.

Family is the destruction of individuals,
The break down of a breakdown,
The father, the absent, the adulterer, the liar,
The mother that suffocates, the liar that neglects
The sister, the addict, the doubter, the hater, the liar
Myself, the sadist, the escapist, the deserter, the honest,
The children together, not seen nor heard, but loved,
Like light shining through an abattoir,

Family, the celebration of manipulation,
The fear of finding no home to go to,
The promise of finding a new one alone,
The urge to flee and the urge to find something, on which we agree,
I want a status quo and a structure,
I want a hug, I want an attack, I want a reaction,
My parents, the sour grapes that?ll never ripen,
The frightened offspring who grew up cold,
No role models, no laughter, no nourishment,

Family, the advent of self-loathing,
They say you can?t love others unless you love yourself,
But all my family loves is wealth,
Thank them for your existence,
An accident not an act of persistence,
Thank them for feeding and clothing, for the roof,
Hate them for always withholding the truth,
Lies are okay when protecting the young,
But when your life is a lie, that?s what you become.
